White Cliffs of Dover

went to see the cliffs closer to Seaford / Eastbourne, where there is easy and free parking, and not too many people (more sheep than people). so peaceful. shame about having to drive through some sad areas to get there.



Make sure you have 1-2 hrs when exploring Canterbury Cathedral. The cathedral is so huge and has lot of things to offer to its visitors. there is a museum and several chapels inside the cathedral



Westgate Gardens

The bunker at Dover Castle is the command post of Dunkirk's Great Retreat and the accompanying hospital. The view from the castle is excellent, you can see the sea, the city, the castle green space, there are not so many people, at least there is a lack of commercial facilities.



Ahh, so wanted to leave a positive review, but we left feeling disappointed. Our first visit and sadly our last.4 adults ( parents, 18 and 16 year olds ) .Way too many empty enclosures. We couldn’t find any information about the history of the park and the Aspinall family.Too many park vehicles driving around the site which made it feel unsafe for those with younger children.Gift shops very much geared towards younger children. We were ready to spend money, but, nothing to spend it on !’ We couldn’t find the farm shop which is advertised on the website. Staff looked at me blankly when I asked.We had 1 day out planned this half term after a difficult year and we feel a little cheated.



St. Augustine's monastery developed into a great Romanesque monastery, one of the most magnificent and influential monasteries in Europe. But this power and influence did not last. During the reign of Henry VIII, the great monastery was destroyed. Walking through the ruins and breathing the ancient atmosphere can temporarily keep us away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
