Next on the map, we headed to Jama' Masjid in Fatehpur Sikri. The complex was built during Moghul Emperor Abu'l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar reign in 1571-1575.
I love the bricks, calligraphy, the ornamental decorations and just about everything. It reminds so much about the Hindustan film I watched on tv screen.
Fatehpur Sikri was the first planned city of the Mughals to be marked by magnificent administrative, residential, and religious buildings comprises of palaces, public buildings, mosques, and living areas for the court, the army, the servants of the king and an entire city.
Public is still using this mosque to offer their Friday prayers.
