What People Are Saying About Doha

Museum of Islamic Art

avatar

The museum is not big. The exhibition area is quite clear as you go up one floor at a time. They are all Islamic cultural exhibits, ceramics, clothing, utensils, accessories, etc., which are very helpful for understanding Islamic culture. 50 card coins per adult, you can buy electronic tickets at any time on various websites, which is very convenient. There are not many people, and it takes about two hours to see them one by one. At a corner of the coast, it is also good to check in outside, the works of I.M. Pei.

National Museum of Qatar

The first time I came to Qatar, I chose to visit the Qatar National Museum. Children can enter for free. Both children and the elderly like it very much. The transportation is very convenient. There are many places to go around. It is a very worthwhile place to visit.

Souq Waqif

The Souq Waqif is one of the hidden gems in Doha. it is an unbelievable, beautiful place - the best I've ever seen. I give kudos to the Qatari people for preserving and modernising their culture, customs, and values, which are evidently on display at this Souq. We had traditional Qatari dinner at the Damasca restaurant in the square at the Souq Waqif. The labyrinth of shops inside the souq is worth exploring.

Katara Cultural Village

I really, really, really love this place. The amphitheatre is something else. The floor air condition at the outdoor restaurant is something I've never seen before and a superb idea. I love it!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Pearl Island

The multi -coloured apartments are beautiful. The man made canals, complete with boat rides, are awesome. We rounded up our visit to Pearl Qatar with dinner at Medina Centrale, a beautiful place to unwind and watch the beautiful expensive cars drive by.

Corniche

Doha Corniche ‎كورنيش الدوحة Doha Binhai Avenue (Arabic: ك בר״ নালা) is a seaside promenade in Doha, Qatar's capital, extending 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) along the Doha Bay. Every year, Qatar National Day, National Sports Day and other national festivals are celebrated with Doha Binhai Avenue as the center. The Binhai Road is divided into three main areas: Binhai Park and Promenade, Binhai Street and Government District.

Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque

Qatar National Mosque Grand Mosque‎جامع الإمام محمد بن عبد الوهاب As Qatar's largest mosque, Imam Abdul Wahab Mosque, also known as the Qatar National Mosque, was completed in 2011. Simple lines, elegant arches, very eye-catching, rich in Islamic traditional architectural features. The mosque has three libraries, separate prayer and fasting bathing halls for men and women, and a dedicated Koranic reciting hall that can accommodate more than 30,000 worshippers. The mosque is beautifully orthodox Islamic architecture, with a fascinating interior, a variety of hand-woven carpets with different patterns and 28 twig ceilings that automatically adjust the light and darkness according to the natural light coming in through the window. The Grand National Mosque was built in memory of his father by Qatar's founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, named after Mohamed Ibn Abdul Wahabi. Address: 8G84+R83, Al Muhandiseen St, Doha, Qatar Transportation: Metro Red Line to 'corniche' and walk for half an hour, bus T605 Time: 10:30-19:00 Tickets: Free

Pretty good areas with some sleeping beds provided, lots of food and drinks for the transit travellers to have a rest

Fanar - Qatar Islamic Cultural Center

avatar
Raed Alhaji
This is the Islamic Cultural Center as well as a mosque and very distinctive and recognizable from the outside. There are culture and language classes available as well as the chance to ask any questions you have about Islam. Additionally, you can set up tours through them to other mosques of note in the city. Very helpful. Great experience.

Msheireb Museums

avatar
Raed Alhaji
Each house in the Mshereib Museums is built in a traditional Qatari style, with colonnaded courtyards, typical since the early 19th century.  A restored family home, Radwani House best illustrates this, with rooms structured around a central open space.  The house allows visitors to look at traditional family life in Qatar, and the changing norms in domestic life.
