[Layout] Big Foot is recommended by the owner of the youth hostel. It is a museum that is very good for understanding Goa's culture, art, and environment. It is divided into two parts. One part is the former house of the local nobles. The displays inside are still the same. The living room, bedroom, dining room, dance hall, kitchen, etc. are all preserved. Chinese porcelain is also displayed. The most interesting thing is that there is a room full of various elephant trunk gods. Across the road is a garden, which has built scenes of local ancient rural life, as well as a small zoo and botanical garden. Of course, the most important thing is a big foot. It is a very interesting place.
[Specialty] Hazelnut products, shell products, not expensive.
[Legend] There was once a rich man named Mahadar, who was very friendly and generous and often helped the poor and those in need. A greedy man named Puram pretended to be unlucky and asked Mahadar for more money than Mahadar could give, but the kind-hearted Mahadar did not refuse him. Mahadar kept giving him alms until one day he was penniless and had to sell his house to continue helping others.
Mahadar and his wife were homeless and had to live on the street, so that his wife became seriously ill, and the evil people he had helped did not refuse to help him, and his wife died tragically.
Mahada still adheres to his faith and helps others with his meager efforts. One day, God appeared in his dream and asked him if he wanted his property back. Mahada asked God to bless those who had hurt him. After God agreed, Mahada only asked for a small place to stand and pray for mankind. In order to test him, God pointed to a hot rock, but he stood there on one leg for many years.
God was very satisfied with his dedication and fulfilled his wish, leaving his footprints, scattering flowers to bless him, and then God took him to heaven. In order to reward Mahada's piety, future generations can be blessed as long as they pray sincerely on his footprints.
