Lugano, a small town in southern Switzerland, has the reputation of "fairy tale city". Lugano, from the Italian "Lucus", meaning "dense forest", is the capital of the canton of Ticino, the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Founded in the 6th century AD, the millennium old city, speaking Italian, eating pasta, a full set of Italian atmosphere; the houses next to the lake and the mountains are in scale, the lake blue, pink, tender green, milky yellow...like a bright Mediterranean style painting; Shuttle in the streets, stop by the arcade, the elderly are reading the newspaper leisurely, the children are playing happily, the soul is calmed and healed here.



Among the many small towns in Switzerland, this one is quiet and unique. The biggest feeling is that there are fewer people, not the kind of place where tourists are constantly rushing in. The buildings in small towns are also very distinctive.



Castles of Bellinzona

There are three famous castles in Bellinzona, one on the mountain and two in the town under the mountain. Grand Castle is in the city and should be an aristocratic manor, which seems to be charged for tickets. The castle on the mountain is a museum, free of charge, but the traffic is not as convenient as the two castles under the mountain.



Lake Como

visited lake como in November 2023, I wouldn’t recommend going at that time of the year as we experienced a lot of rain, nonetheless it was still a beautiful place, with lots to do! We went to Bellagio and Varenna by ferry, which was super easy to use and both places were breathtaking


