Boracay Island Brief Guide

Boracay has all the necessary elements of a tropical paradise: soft sandy beaches, sapphire ocean waters and bright sunshine. Boracay is shaped like a meaty bone. The central part has the gentle White Beach while the north and south are covered with lush mountain forests. Stretching out four kilometers from start to finish, White Beach is the highlight of Boracay. It is rather lively here with all kinds of resort villages, restaurants, bars and clubs. Other beaches such as Diniwid Beach, Bulabog Beach and Puka Shell Beach are relatively quiet and tranquil. Sail out on the ocean to catch a view of an unforgettable sunset. You can also climb up on top of Mount Luho for a bird’s-eye view of all of Boracay or experience a vast variety of exciting water sports. This island also has an abundance of nightlife that will not disappoint.

Boracay Island Travel Tips

1. Island Hopping Etiquette: When island hopping, respect the local environment. Don't remove shells or corals, avoid stepping on fragile marine life, and dispose of trash properly to preserve Boracay's natural beauty. Always follow local guidelines and respect wildlife. 2. Be Cautious of Jellyfish: Occasionally, jellyfish can be found in the waters around Boracay, especially bluebottle jellyfish. Their stings can cause severe pain and other symptoms. Avoid touching them, even if they are on the shore. Check for any warnings from local authorities before swimming. 3. Avoid Unlicensed Water Sports Operators: Only book water activities with licensed operators to ensure proper safety measures. Look for official certifications or ask your hotel for recommendations. 4. Drone Photography Restrictions: Drone photography in Boracay requires a Certificate of Authorization from CAAP and possibly additional local permits. Follow guidelines such as maintaining visual line-of-sight, avoiding no-fly zones, and respecting privacy to avoid fines. 5. Alcohol Consumption Rules: Public drinking is prohibited in certain areas of Boracay, especially on the beachfront. Consume alcohol only in designated areas like bars and clubs to avoid penalties. Violators may face fines and confiscation of their drinks. 6. Beach Smoking Ban: Smoking is prohibited on Boracay's beaches. Respect this environmental law to avoid fines and help keep the beaches clean. You can ask local business proprietors for designated smoking areas.

What People Are Saying About Boracay Island

Write a Review

Boracay

avatar
好孩子的麻麻(莉莉)
The sand is fine and white, formed by coral grinding, and cool even at noon. Surfers Paradise offers a variety of water activities such as parachutes, diving and so on.

White Beach

The water is so clear and was warmer than I expected. There are plenty of good food options around. The beach is however quite crowded, lots of sales people around trying to sell you something. The location is good because it’s close to everything.

Boracay Island Sunset Sailing

avatar
樱木花花道
The sunset sailing boat is a popular tourist project on Boracay Island. As the name implies, it is to take a sailing boat to see the sunset scenery. The price is not very expensive. A boat can seat up to 4 people. The price is quite high. If you bring electronic products, you must bring a waterproof cover. The waves are relatively large.

Puka Shell Beach

avatar
山地情怀竹青
Well, more than ten years later, Puka Beach is still very quiet, commercial development is still stagnant, the beach is very long, it is not as delicate as the beach, S2 beach, but this beach is really quiet, and not so hot, of course, there are no shops, no tourism projects, Only some blacks sell some simple ones. Yes, there are banana boats, transparent boats, travel photography services, the sea in his place, there are deep and shallow, so the color is staggered from green to deep blue, and the gap from the shore to the sea is very large, so the scenery of the sea is more beautiful. Unlike S1S 2, it is a color. If you arrive, you need to take a rabbit car. You have to counter-offer. It depends on your ability.

Bulabog Beach

avatar
Sheda11
Called Bulabog (which means disturbance in English), this beach probably called as such because normally, it's the windy side of the island where kite flying and other water sports are done. However, during habagat monsoon (Jun-Sep), sea there shifts to calm, becoming your go-to for swimming. Sand is a bit rocky and water not as clear but it is still a nice place for a dip.Given its location, most also refer to it as the 'back beach' as it is literally a 5- to 10-minute walk from White Beach. You can just go out the main road between Stations 1 and 2. Look for Budget Mart, walk past BPI and when you see a MiniStop to your right, take that road and walk straight ahead.

Laurel Island

There are 2 Coves were you can go swimming in the clearest water. This was one of my highlights. The water is clean and clear and you can swim out of the cove into the ocean. There are local guides that help you along the way as there are some stairs and sharp rocks around. You have to go through a tunnel to get to the second cove. Beautiful experience

Friday Beach

i stayed at matts guest house which is somewhar near to this other beach in boracay. o stroll along the shore and took pictures here.there were a lot of motor boats and coconut trees in this area of boracya island

Willy's Rock

avatar
二十画生JQK
Take an Asian Airlines flight from Kunming Changshui Airport, fly for about 4 hours, arrive at Kalibo Airport in the Philippines, then take a bus for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to Caticlan Port, transfer to a motor boat called a crab boat by locals, and arrive at Boracay in 15 minutes! Boracay is a narrow and dumbbell-shaped island with more than 400 hotels and homestays. The beach is about 7 kilometers long, with a white sand beach about 4 kilometers long. There are three piers on the island, S1, S2, and S3. The white sand beach at S1 pier is the best, especially the Friday Beach and the beach near the Notre Dame Rock, which have the whitest and finest sand, and the hotel is the most luxurious. If I come again next time, I will choose a hotel in S2 for 2-3 days and a hotel in S1 for 1-2 days, because S2 is close to the D-mall commercial pedestrian street, food and shopping are more convenient, and S1 has the most beautiful scenery. The hotel we stayed at this time was the Krent Hotel, which costs about RMB 600-700 per night (including breakfast). The beach is 10 meters away from the hotel. Going to the right for about 1 kilometer is the most popular D-mall on the island. Going further is the direction of S1 White Beach. You can choose to walk there, or take the main transportation on the island, a tuk-tuk, which usually costs 180-200 pesos per car. Food stores can be found everywhere on the island, including KFC, McDonald's, Starbucks... the fast food we are familiar with, as well as food from various countries.

Amazing Show Theater

Boracay is really great, with sunshine and beaches. I played a lot of projects, and then I accidentally saw tickets for a performance show, with dance, which was really exquisite, and you can also go on stage to interact, it's worth watching...
