Gubei Water Town, must be the place where Beijing must go to hot springs, ancient towns, Great Wall, everything. There are also good food snacks. It is best to avoid the peak holiday period. Otherwise, the queue is crowded!

I arrived at the Great Wall at 4pm during the Qingming Festival. There were few people and the tour experience was very good. I climbed the 6-14 watchtowers, went up the ropeway and down the cable car. This section was still very beautiful. There was an outbuilding with no one at all. I took a lot of photos with my children there and was very happy.



It’s an amazing part of the Wall, with hardly any people, mostly because it’s around 2h drive from Beijing. It has some challenging parts but overall impressive and totally recommended

Last night, I accompanied my father to the Badaling Great Wall in Beijing. This was the first time I saw the Great Wall in spring with my own eyes, and it left a deep impression on me. During this trip, I would also like to thank Director Zhang for her wonderful explanation. Before we started climbing the Great Wall, Director Zhang introduced us to the history and importance of the Great Wall. She vividly described the construction process of the Great Wall and its significance to Chinese history and culture. I was deeply attracted by her explanation and felt as if I had traveled back to ancient times. As we climbed slowly, I could feel the strong historical atmosphere of the Great Wall. Every stone records the wisdom and courage of the ancients. Standing on the Great Wall, I could overlook the mountains and snowy scenery in the distance, and my heart was full of pride and joy. During the climb, Director Zhang also shared some interesting stories and legends. She used humorous language to make us laugh, which added to the fun of this trip. Director Zhang is a typical Beijing big sister. There was no consumption throughout the whole venue, and my father was particularly satisfied.



I think the Cableway + Slides combo is definitely worth the extra cost! The chairlift takes you up to Tower 6 in just 5 minutes, saving lots of energy and time. However, on weekends or holidays, the queue can stretch up to 2 hours—so plan accordingly. Still, I think it’s worth the wait! The toboggan ride down is surprisingly long (in a good way), but if you’re not up for it, you can take the chairlift down instead—usually with much shorter wait times.TIP: This chairlift + toboggan combo is different from the cable car that goes to Tower 14, so the tickets aren’t interchangeable.



Friends recommend to go to the Forbidden City to find explanations, this in-depth tour is very good. The tour guide started on time, the service was very good, the explanation was clear, the allusion was opened, vivid and interesting, taking pictures of time, and finding a suitable place to let us rest in the middle. Some palaces were not open, but they were basically finished. At the last time, I learned the story of the main treasure decorations of the treasure hall, but the treasure hall is crowded and the horse is watching the flowers. In the afternoon, the venue is passing by and not going back, so hurry up and take pictures. If it is the morning venue, it is actually better, and you can go shopping by yourself at the end of the explanation. The overall value is back to the fare.


