Zhougong Mountain

Zhougong Mountain Attraction is located in the deep mountainous area in the west of Xingtai, Hebei, with a total area of ​​110 square kilometers. It is 65 kilometers away from the urban area of ​​Xingtai and 30 kilometers away from Heshun County, Shanxi. The Attraction is full of steep mountains, strange peaks and cliffs, majestic mountains and magnificent momentum. Gushan is the peak of Zhougong Mountain, with an altitude of 1,517 meters. It stands on the top of the peaks, majestic and unique, forging the peculiar scene of "nature is full of beauty, yin and yang divide dusk and dawn". During the Liang and Jin Dynasties of the Five Dynasties, Li Cunxiao, the governor of Xingzhou and the Thirteenth Taibao, once climbed this peak to look at the enemy, so it is also called Cunxiao Nao. The orogenic movement hundreds of millions of years ago formed the unique Zhangshiyan cliff landform of Zhougong Mountain. In the Shanxi boundary above the cliff, there are endless trees, green grass all over the mountains, sheep foraging everywhere, and wild flowers of various colors, looking around, which makes people feel open-minded. Standing on the cliff, looking back at the territory of Xingtai, Hebei, there are rolling mountains, canyons with colorful forests, and a winding and rugged stone path looming in the mountains and forests; in the distance, the Xingfen Expressway is like a dragon, passing through the mountainside. Zhougong Attraction is mostly secondary forests, and the main trees in the valleys are walnuts, chestnuts, persimmons, apples, red dates, apricots, as well as mountain poplars, mountain elms, and acacias. There are wild animals such as wild boars, hares, squirrels, badgers, pheasants, rock pigeons, and tits on the mountain. Due to the large altitude difference in Zhougong Mountain Attraction, the mountain climate is obvious, and the temperature is 5-10℃ lower than that in Xingtai City, forming a unique climate of "one place with two seasons". Especially in summer, the climate is cool and the terrain is flat and open, creating a unique climate phenomenon for leisure and vacation. Zhougong Mountain also has an ancient post road built in the early Ming Dynasty. This ancient post road paved with red stone has always been one of the main trade routes connecting Hebei and Shanxi. For thousands of years, at the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, countless merchants from Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and other places used this ancient post road to transport grain, cloth, materials, mountain products, kerosene and other daily necessities to the Northwest Plateau and the Central Plains, playing an important role in trade exchanges between Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.
