The Monastery is fantastic! I recommend the guided tour! Our guide was great, so friendly and explaining everything! Unfortunately the Monastery is suffering with humidity inside due to construction...
We stayed at a local town especially to visit this Monastery and we were not disappointed. Restoration work is being carried out but this did not detract from the visit.
A shame to see such an important part of the Portuguese heritage fall into desrepair like this... fortunately conservation works are under way and hopefully the monastery will be back to its former gl...
Although the monastery is on UNESCO list, there are not so many visitors here. We were travelling and could not not visit this place. Beautiful. privacy, I advise you to visit!
