Fanzong Temple

Fanzong Temple, commonly known as Beida Temple, is located 4 kilometers north of Wudan Town, where the Wengniute Banner People's Government of Chifeng City is located. It is a key cultural relics protection unit in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The temple was built in the eighth year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1743), and was named by Emperor Qianlong. It is a Tibetan Buddhist temple with Han-style architecture. All the temples are of blue brick, grey tile and wood frame structure, and are built on stone platform foundations. It is laid out from south to north according to the ups and downs of the mountain, and consists of the mountain gate, the main hall, the east and west side halls, the Guandi hall and the scripture hall. Fore Fang and Liang Fang are painted on top and bottom. There are 115 existing houses, covering an area of more than 5,000 square meters. It is a large-scale and well-preserved ancient building complex in Chifeng area. The monastery is surrounded by dense trees and a beautiful environment. The living Buddha Danjung Ranabanza built the Fanzong Monastery into a college-style monastery. The monastery has set up a library, a reference room, an archive room and a computer room, and a "Mongolian-Tibetan Clinic" has been established. The "Living Buddha Mansion" and "House of Lay Buddhists", which provide convenience for academic research and exchanges between domestic Buddhist experts and scholars, have also been included in the construction plan. The school-running form of monasteries is unique in China.
