I am very disappointed. The experience fishing with this company was nothing like what I had envisioned. I expected I would fish a couple of rivers and maybe a couple of lakes. We fished one lake all day, one side of the lake was straight into the wind. The other side of the lake was calmer but very shallow with seaweed on every cast. I know we cant control the weather but a guide should have a couple of options of fishing locations especially for nearly $1,000.00!! What happened to the fishing beats that they are suppose to obtain? My understanding is lakes are very cheap to get a card.The other issue was the gear, the first reel had a knot that would catch the line and stop the cast, the replacement reel that my guide put on was not even half spooled and undersized, and the reel was junk. Also I fished two spoons and two very old spinners, the hooks could not have been duller.I didn’t need to catch dozens of fish or even 1 fish to be satisfied, I just wanted to enjoy the experience, and feel as though I got my moneys worth. I would not go on this outing again if I was offered to go for free. I asked the owner if he was concerned about the weather on the evening before the trip, he said he was not concerned and that poor weather often means better fishing. This may be true, but not high wind. He should have advised me to cancel the trip.My guide was very personable and friendly but he could see I was getting seaweed on every cast, he should have had an alternate location for us to go fish. I would have enjoyed fishing the rivers or another lake just for a change in scenery. My guide stayed in the car or on the bank of the lake 99% of time. I blame myself for not doing the proper research. , this trip was planned last minute and this was the only outfitter available, now I know why! I hope I can save just one person from booking this outing.
