Locals in the northernmost part of Sri Lanka are very simple, most of them don't speak English. There are very few hotels with unusual scenery. If you want to experience different tours in Sri Lanka, you can consider that there are no tour groups to travel freely.
Visiting the historic Jaffna Fort was a captivating experience. The impressive ramparts and panoramic views provided a profound sense of the fort's past significance. Inside, the blend of colonial and local architecture told stories of diverse cultural influences. Despite some war scars, the restoration efforts were commendable, inviting peaceful contemplation amidst the ruins and vibrant life of the surrounding city. Truly memorable.
The location is somewhat biased. It's also a small castle. The surrounding scenery is still more desolate.
Castles in general, as a defensive fortification function has basically disappeared. There's only room left for tourists to visit. But there are not many foreign tourists. It's a good place.
