BE sure you are not a real nervous driver, because it is a scary drive to the top, with a two lane winding road and sheer drop-offs! If you are not used to high altitude it can make you sick, so take it slowly and drink lots of water. I'm from Denver !(5280 feet) and I really felt awful at the top of Mr. Evans which is twice as high as Denver! The view is amazing but the drive and altitude is dangerous!

Climbing to the summit of Mount Evans (one of Colorado's most beautiful peaks) is the driving force for most people. It is a difficult journey as the whole journey requires walking up the mountain. The views from the top are unforgettable and there are beautiful scenery along the way. You can fully feel the charm of Colorado here.
The road to Evans Peak, supposedly the highest in the United States, is closed every September near the top, and the road closes at Echo Lake, about 15 miles from the top. So it's a pity not to see the Rock Sheep at Evans's Peak.
The main reason to come here is to see Mount Evans. The bicycle road to the top of the mountain is said to be the highest bicycle road in the United States, and it is partially closed in September every year because it may freeze. Echo Lake is beautiful!
