Tianxiang Scenic Are

Tianxiang is located on the river terrace in the Liwu River Basin of Taroko. It is an open river terrace. There are two rare plants, Taroko spurge and Taroko oak. The scenery here is beautiful. Outside the Liuhu Cave and other topographical landscapes, the surrounding cliffs stand up, the valley undercut is spectacular, and the marble rocks are lined up, which is breathtaking. Tianxiang's original name was Tabido, which means mountain brown. It used to be the home of the Atayal Tabido (Tupido) tribe. When the Zhongheng Highway was opened, the name was changed to commemorate Wen Tianxiang. Fuyuan Garden and Plum Garden are two small parks before entering Tianxiang. Xiangde Temple is located on the high-level river steps on the opposite bank of Liwu River. The statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva with a golden body more than ten feet tall stands on the top of the mountain, and the neatly repaired landscape of flowers and trees in the temple is also its characteristic. The "Tianfeng Pagoda" near Xiangde Temple is a seven-level pagoda. Standing in front of the pagoda, the view is infinite and vast, and the scenery of the mountains and waters can be seen in the bottom of the eyes. It is a good place to watch the scenery. "Sudden Pavilion Trail" is a hiking trail, about 2 kilometers away from Tianxiang. You can go down from the Huanran Pavilion to Tianxiang, the journey is relatively easy, and you can also enjoy the scenery along the way.
