Liancheng Castle is located in Liancheng Village, Taimushan Town, Fuding City, Fujian Province. In the 11th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1532), in order to resist Japanese pirates, the court appointed officials to supervise the construction, and several big families such as Wang, Ye, Yang, and Liu built the castle in sections. The castle is made of stone, with a circumference of 1,127 meters, and the city wall is 5 to 6 meters high and 4 to 5 meters wide. The wall is 1.5 meters high and 1.2 meters thick; there are four artillery platforms around the city, equipped with four cannons; there are three gates in the east, west, and south, and there are ring roads and ancient streets in the city. The waterways are connected in all directions; there is a moat outside the city.
