Good kid stop in the park
Our 5 and 7 year old grandkids enjoyed seeing the two snakes and playing outside with the large lincoln logs and musical instruments, half hour is plenty, we walked from the State Lodge hotel room.
Custer State Park was a great stop, and this place was a nice place to rest and relax before going back out on the trails. Lots of mounted wildlife, educational film, good AC and very clean restrooms...
Nice education center with daily class for kids. If you will be in and around the park for a few days your kids can complete the Junior Naturalist program.

Interesting exhibits, worth the stop
Interesting exhibits about the wildlife and environment of CSP. Worth stopping for 15-25 minutes of your time.
Great Interpretive Information
A quick stop you can get information on the area and learn about the history. Very educational good for the kids.
