I ended up here because I had time to spare and they mentioned on their site that they did tours. I always prefer tours over just wandering around as usually on sites like this, you don't have any idea what you're seeing.First of all, the full grounds of the Fort are quite big and only a small part of it has been completely restored. Most of it desperately needs restoration. The volunteers on site are fully aware of this but there is only so much they can do with the people and money they have.

This place is known as a castle, but there is only a circle of not too high walls around it, which are built of stone and brick. The fort was built mainly to defend against the British attack in the direction of Canada, but it has not been used. Now it is mainly used for activities.
