During the Moorish rule, the tower of Calaola was built to protect the ancient Roman bridge. Two square towers, like mighty fighters, stood on both sides of the bridge at the southern end. After the Catholic Church recovered the lost land, the tower was expanded in the 14th century, and a third was added in parallel to the original two towers. With the vastness of the Guadalquivier River, it has become the southern gate of Cordoba and the military fortress that resists foreign enemies and is easy to defend. Today, the tower of Karaoula has been converted into an Andalusian museum, focusing on Cordoba's Islamic civilization. Among them, the model of the Great Mosque, which is restored proportionally, is most exquisite and eye-catching.
