Monthuich Castle (Castillox Montjuich). Barcelona Spain & Monthuich Castle: Located at the commanding height of Monthuich Mountain, you can see the whole view of the port and the city. The castle was first built in 1640 but was destroyed by Philip V in 1705. On its ruins was the present Bourbon military fortress. During the War of Independence, it was occupied by Napoleon and served as a prison during the Civil War. Monthuich Castle witnessed many social movements that suppressed Barcelona and Catalonia. The castle is now partially converted into a military museum.

The castle is on Monterey Mountain. Take the bus up the mountain in Catalonia Square. You will pass by the Catalonia Art Palace and the Olympic Park. These two are also must-check in points. The bus terminal is the castle. Free on Sunday afternoon.

If the time is very abundant, it is recommended to take the bus up the mountain and then walk slowly down the mountain, and visit the attractions along the way. Many locals will also come here to play a walk and picnic, and the scenery is quite good. Finally, you can enjoy the night view of the musical fountain in front of the National Museum of Catalonia at night, and of course pay attention to the crowds in the square to protect their belongings.

When you arrive in Barcelona, you must go to this mountain to see. We chose to take the subway to Plaza de España and then take the bus from there. Montjuic is not a mountain, it can only be regarded as a small hillside. The car is down to the castle.
