龙泉寺位于辽宁省鞍山市东20公里的千山北沟东部，为千山五大禅林中现存最大的佛寺。寺院奇峰环抱，古松成林，向以历史悠久、建筑得体、布局与自然景色和谐而著称。相传龙泉之名来源有四，一曰毗户殿前石隙有泉，涓涓细流弯曲似龙，故名；二曰寺中心泉水常年潺流，如“龙涎吐水”，故名；三曰寺前为照山，后为靠山，左山为青龙，右山为白虎，泉出自小山脉以北佛堂基下，山与泉合名为龙泉；四曰唐太宗东徵，驻跸千山，钦过此水，故名龙泉。

千山龙泉寺始建于唐代，是千山"五大禅林"中最大的一座佛寺，有大雄宝殿、藏经阁、禅房等。西阁学堂是王尔烈寒窗苦读之所。晨钟暮鼓，碧水龙潭，景色十分秀丽，薄一波亲题“钟灵毓秀”
