The fair in Mataderos gives a unique and immersive Argentinian cultural experience. Enjoy cultural activities and food with the locals! Argentina is very much a meat culture but there are non-meat options to enjoy at the fair as well especially the large selection of local sweets! Great for backpackers because the fair itself is free and you can have a taste of the culture for whatever suits your budget.

5/5Outstanding
An italian sausage, cooked on the parrilla and then slapped in a sausage-type bun, is the famous Argentine chorpian. The Feria de Mataderos (Mataderos Market) serves up one of the tastiest choripanes in the city on the weekends. you can make an entire afternoon out of visiting the market: there are horse displays, dance shows and lots to eat and drink. Most stalls will give you a taste of whatever they’re selling for free too. Avoid arriving before about 2pm, as things don’t really get started until then.
