In the 'Sejong Sillok Jiriji' and 'Daedongyeojido', it is recorded as 'Cheoncheon (穿川)', meaning a river with a hole. Gumunso is where Hwangjicheon and Cheoramcheon meet. The two waterways of Hwangjicheon and Cheoramcheon met an underground cave and gradually widened the cave, creating a cave-like terrain on the ground. Looking at the unique terrain of Gumunso, you can see how the terrain of the Korean Peninsula was formed 500 million years ago.
