The red maple leaves at Tianping Mountain in Suzhou are breathtaking!
Listen up, ladies! The red maple leaves at Tianping Mountain in Suzhou are breathtaking! It's definitely the "top attraction" you can't miss this fall!
The maple leaves here are colorful, and their reflection in the water looks like an oil painting. It's so beautiful that it makes you cry! The maple leaves have already started to put on their "fall clothes." If you're planning to enjoy the fall scenery, you can get ready to go next week!
📍Location: Tianping Mountain Scenic Area, Wuzhong District, Suzhou
🎫Tickets: CNY 30, free with a garden card!
🚇Transportation: Take Metro Line 1 to Mudu Station, then take a taxi to the scenic area.
⏰Opening hours: 7 am to 5 pm
📷Photo time: I took beautiful photos on November 15 last year. The maple leaves turn red a little later this year, so next week to December is the best time to visit!
🍁My recommended spots for viewing maple leaves:
1️⃣Baiyun Pool: The small bridge, ancient trees, and pool water complement each other, making you feel like you've traveled to a paradise!
2️⃣Baiyun Temple: The golden ginkgo and fiery red maple leaves intertwine, making a romantic combination!
3️⃣Baiyun Spring: Known as the "No. 1 Water in Wuzhong," the water is clear and refreshing. Even Lu Yu, the tea sage of the Tang Dynasty, praised it as good water!
4️⃣Ancient Maple Forest: The ancient maple trees here have endured over 400 years of wind and frost. They are the "ancestors" who have experienced many vicissitudes and are worth seeing!
5️⃣Shijing Pond: A typical representative of colorful maple leaves. Walking on the bridge feels like being in a painting, with a strong sense of atmosphere!
6️⃣Wangfeng Terrace: Overlooking from the mountainside of Tianping Mountain, you can see the entire maple scenery, which is truly a feast for the eyes!
⭐️Travel tips:
✅There are many people during the Maple Leaf Festival, so remember to go early! Rush in as soon as the scenic area opens. It's recommended to arrive before 8 am!
✅After 8 am, driving up the mountain is easy to get stuck in traffic, and parking spaces are also tight, so it's best to park your car in the parking lot at the foot of the mountain!
✅Be sure to choose a sunny day to go! The maple leaves all over the mountains are dyed in layers, and the scenery is so beautiful that it makes you intoxicated. I can take photos all day long!

I never think I’d see this with my very eyes
This just feels like Liyue from Genshin Impact coming to life. It felt so china here, i mean look at all the red lanterns glowing through that old town of china, reflecting off the beautiful streams of the village. It looks just like a painting, and we are brushed into it. We are glad we can watch the whole town transform from sunset into night, honestly sunset is even better because of the pastel sky. #awesomepic #couplestrip #景点拍照指南

AMAZING SUZHOU
China Suzhou a city west of Shanghai, is known for its canals, bridges and classical gardens. The Humble Administrator’s Garden, dating to 1513, contains zigzag bridges over connected pools and islands. The Lingering Garden features ornate viewing pavilions and the Crown of Clouds Peak, a striking limestone rockery. The old streets have very nice view and variety of local Jiang Nan style food. All year long, this city has attracted many tourists from domestic and international tourists. Traffic congestion and overcrowded conditions could be challenging for international tourists to enjoy sightseeing and enjoying the moments.

Chinese proverb which states “above is heaven and below is SuHang (Suzhou and Hangzhou).” This proverb implies that the beauty of Suzhou and Hangzhou is comparable to heaven.
This city embodies the classic flavor of Jiangnan, rich in tourism resources, and Suzhou gardens and water towns are the most famous among all. Suzhou gardens can be traced back to the royal garden in 6th century BC. People always say “Suzhou Gardens are the finest under heaven”, that's not an exaggeration

Not forgetting the Suzhou Museum, designed by the world-renowned architect I.M. Pei, is a modern architectural masterpiece that integrates traditional Chinese design elements with contemporary aesthetics.
Remember to indulge in the Pingtan performance, a traditional form of storytelling accompanied by music, originating from Suzhou. This year, my favorite niche and unpopular ancient town has appeared.
This year, my favorite niche and unpopular ancient town has appeared, not Wuzhen or Nanxun, but Zhenze in Jiangsu. During the National Day holiday, I found this truly unpopular ancient town. The ancient town is not big, and it takes only half an hour to visit. The bluestone alleys, the ordinary streets, the reflection of the ancient pagoda, find a teahouse, drink tea and take a break, and chat with the locals is the correct way to open the holiday for local residents.
🚗 Traffic Guide
- Self-driving: Navigate directly to the scenic spot, there are multiple parking lots which are very convenient.
- Bus: Wujiang Zhenze special line directly reaches Zhenze Station.
🏰 Must-visit attractions
- Shijian Hall: A typical Jiangnan water village mansion gate, with a five-room facade and a six-entry hall-style high wall and deep house, with a total of 147 rooms of various sizes, integrating a river wharf, inn, shop, street, hall, inner house, garden, and lower house.
- Ciyun Temple Pagoda: The landmark of Zhenze Ancient Town, a brick-bodied and wooden-eaved pavilion-style pagoda, with a six-sided and five-story appearance, composed of a corridor, pagoda wall, and pagoda core, with a history of over 1750 years.
- Wenchang Pavilion: Built during the Qianlong period and renovated during the Daoguang period, a two-entry building, with a mountain gate in front and a pavilion in the back, three stories high, with a single-eaved hip roof, windows on all sides, connected pavilions, and a statue of Emperor Wenchang.
- Yuji Bridge: A typical Jiangnan stone arch bridge, echoing the Ciyun Temple Pagoda, with a profound artistic conception.
- Guta Street: You can find various local snacks, such as radish cake, Dingsheng cake, stinky tofu, crabapple cake, and braised duck and chicken claws.
🍵 Leisure experience
- Tea house: If you are tired, go to the teahouse and try the local smoked bean tea and snacks, which is the best way to relax.

The red maple begins to change color in early November every year, and it will be all red by the end of November.
The best viewing period is in early December, and the ginkgo viewing period is relatively short, generally concentrated in late November and early December.
It will vary slightly depending on the weather each year.
If you want to come to Suzhou, it is recommended to arrange your itinerary in advance.

Suzhou 4 Days Itinerary
📍 Itinerary Overview
🏖️ Must-Visit Attractions
1. 留园 lingering garden
It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed classical gardens of Suzhou. The place is beautiful. Very nice place to take photos, there are many corridors, pavilions, halls etc to take very nice photos. Can wear cheongsam here to take photos, think it really match with the feel here.
2. 西园寺 xiyuan temple
This place feels very peaceful. Not as many people as the other garden, there are many cats here too. The vegetarian noodle is yummy as well. There are yellow walls where you can take those instagramable photos too.
3. 平江路 pin jiang road
Though many would say it is very commercialized, I still feel that it is worth coming. You can see the narrow road and stone bridge crisscross the waterways. There are many small shop selling souvenirs. And tea house where you can rest your legs and escape from the hot afternoon sun. Have some local tea and listen to the local traditional opera/music. Suzhou have their traditional opera performance called 苏州评弹 Suzhou pingtan. Worth a try but do take note that there are some that have hidden fees.
4. 七里山塘街 qili shantang street
Night view is beautiful as lanterns are lighted.
🚇 Transportation
Personally I feel that taking train is much more convenient as it comes on time and it is air conditioned. Traffic is a bit congested so the bus might be delayed, and waiting for the bus in hot weather is a torture.
🍜 Local Cuisine
1. 绿豆汤Mung bean soup
Not your traditional kind, it is peppermint drink with mung beans and many other toppings. Those who hate it would say it tastes like toothpaste. But people who love it will find it so refreshing!
2. 生煎包 pan fried pork bun
Had these everyday during my trip. My favorites would still be from 鑫震源
3. 素面 vegetarian noodle
Specifically from 西园寺 xi yuan temple.
4. 苏式糖粥 Suzhou style sweet porridge
It is typically made with glutinous rice in the form of porridge and pair with red bean soup. There are other variety where you can add mini rice ball.
5. 桂花糖藕 sweet osmanthus lotus roots
It is a cold dish where they stuffed glutinous rice inside the lotus root and cook with sugar syrup flavored with osmanthus.
6. 鸡头米 gorgon seed
I had it stir fried with celery and water chestnut. The texture of the gorgon seed is slightly chewy. I also saw that it can be added as toppings for some sweet dessert like in the sweet porridge.
7. 松子桂鱼 sweet and sour mandarin fish with pine nuts
The mandarin fish was prepared and cut in a way that after it was being deep fried, it resemble a squirrel. It was served with sweet and sour sauce and topped with pine nuts.
🏠 Accommodation
1.Pan Pacific Suzhou
There is a private access from the hotel to 盘门 pan men, a historic landmark in Suzhou. It is the only remaining land and water gate left in China (if I’m not wrong). Do spend some time here as it is quite big. There is a big Chinese garden with pavilions and canals. There are also some activities there too for kid

The Lingering Garden in Suzhou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
The Lingering Garden in Suzhou is one of China's four famous gardens (along with the Summer Palace in Beijing, the Mountain Resort in Chengde, and the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou). It was originally built in 1593 during the Ming Dynasty by a man named Xu Taishi, who had been dismissed from his official position. Initially called the East Garden, it fell into disrepair and was later rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty by a man named Liu Shu, who renamed it Liu Garden. It was opened to the public and became a tourist attraction. The garden fell into disrepair again during the Taiping Rebellion in the Qing Dynasty and was purchased and rebuilt by a man named Sheng Kang in 1876, who renamed it the Lingering Garden. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, it was used to house military horses and fell into disrepair once more. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, the Suzhou city government took over and restored the garden, opening it to the public in 1954.

Must-Visit Attractions in Suzhou
Address - 178 Northeast Street, Gusu District, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province
Environment/Facilities - 500 years of unparalleled scenic beauty
Features - One of China's World Heritage Sites
Average Price - $90
Rating - 9/10
Suzhou is home to four famous gardens, including the Canglang Pavilion built in the Song Dynasty, the Lion Grove Garden built in the Yuan Dynasty, the Humble Administrator's Garden built in the Ming Dynasty, and the Lingering Garden built in the Qing Dynasty. The Humble Administrator's Garden is particularly large, with important attractions such as the 'Hall of Thirty-Six Mandarin Ducks,' 'Listening Pavilion,' 'Floating Green Pavilion,' 'With Whom to Sit Pavilion,' 'Bowing to the Literary Pavilion,' and 'Pagoda Reflection Pavilion.' We mainly visited the Hall of Thirty-Six Mandarin Ducks, which is part of the West Garden. The main building actually consists of two halls: the southern hall is called the Hall of Eighteen Mandala Flowers, and the northern hall is the Hall of Thirty-Six Mandarin Ducks. This type of dual-named structure is known as a Mandarin Duck Hall in ancient architecture. The southern hall, the Hall of Eighteen Mandala Flowers, is suitable for winter and spring. The mandala flower is actually the camellia. The northern hall is named after the thirty-six pairs of mandarin ducks that used to be kept by the pond. I particularly liked the blue stained glass with a touch of European style.

Suzhou is not only famous for its gardens and ancient streets, but also for Jinji Lake.
⛵P1, P3: Photos taken near the Moonlight Pier of Jinji Lake. The Oriental Gate, also known as "Big Autumn Pants", is on the other side of the lake. It is recommended to visit at night. The large photo frame is in the Cultural and Art Center, which is very close to the Moonlight Pier. It is found that this cultural art is very dedicated to popularizing and feeling the artistic atmosphere. If you are interested, you can turn around inside and around. There is a small night market by the lake, which is quite lively but not very large, and there are not many merchants.
⛵P2, P4: Photos taken near Wanghu Pavilion Pier, with the Cultural and Art Center and Ferris wheel on the other side of the lake. You can also take a boat to Taohua Island here.
🌸P5: Taohua Island, there are three characters of "Taohua Island" written by Mr. Jin Yong on the stone wall of the island. The moment I saw it, I was "killed by the memory" by "Peach Blossom Shadow Falling Flying Sword, Jade Flute Pressed by the Green Sea Tide". The facilities on the island are more suitable for parent-child tours. If you are walking with a baby, you can bring your children to play.
The name of Jinji Lake comes from Qiongji, the daughter of King Wu Fucha. It exists to commemorate her. The lake was originally called "Qiongji Lake". Because "Qiongji" in Wu language sounds similar to "Jinji", it was mistakenly passed down as "Jinji Lake" and has been used ever since.

| Don't miss this stunning emerald lake. The crystal-clear lake water is turquoise under the sun. The last time I saw such a clear lake was at Tianshan Lake in Xinjiang. I can't believe there is such a beautiful place in Suzhou.

Suzhou | Don't just visit the Suzhou Museum, the West Wing is also worth a visit!
🚗 The Suzhou Museum West Wing is a branch of the Suzhou Museum. On September 25, 2021, the Suzhou Museum West Wing opened for trial operation. Located in Shishan Square, Gaoxin District, Suzhou, the West Wing was designed by GMP Architekten, a leading German architectural firm. With a total floor area of 48,365 square meters and an exhibition area of 13,391 square meters, the West Wing exhibits over 2,100 cultural relics, including jade cong from the Liangzhu period, Tang-Five Dynasties gold-leafed paper manuscript of the Lotus Sutra, Song Jun kiln drum-studded three-legged washbasin, Yuan dynasty celadon loquat tribute, Shunzhi period celestial maiden scattering flowers bowl, and other precious relics. The West Wing's architecture draws inspiration from the street and alley layout of Jiangnan water towns, inheriting classic elements while showcasing distinct regional characteristics. Permanent exhibition halls include the General History Exhibition Hall, Suzhou Craftsmanship Hall, Exploration Experience Hall, International Cooperation Hall, and Suzhou Color Life Hall.
🚗 Features
The Suzhou Museum West Wing offers a wide range of content. In addition to the "Pure Jiangnan: Suzhou History Exhibition" hall and the Exploration Experience Hall, the second floor houses the "Suzhou Craftsmanship Hall", which retraces the development of Suzhou's handicrafts from the Song and Yuan dynasties to the present. The second floor also houses the "International Cooperation Hall", which exhibits 218 sets of ancient Roman relics from the British Museum, marking the first time that the British Museum's collection of such relics has been exhibited in Asia. The third floor houses the "Suzhou Painting and Calligraphy: Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy from All Dynasties" exhibition. It exhibits 58 sets of exquisite paintings and calligraphy from the Song dynasty to the modern era. The first basement floor houses the Suzhou Color Life Hall, which exudes the ancient charm of Jiangnan.
🚗 Now, the West Wing of the museum is open to the public without an appointment, making it more convenient for visitors. There are many exhibitions inside, and the first basement floor is suitable for bringing children. The staff are very friendly. The exhibitions are very interesting, and the whole venue is very large. It is recommended to allow more time. It is a bit far from the subway station, so it is more convenient to drive.

EXPLORING THE CHARMING TONGLI
#ancienttown
China is renowned for its numerous ancient towns, making it difficult to choose just one.
After much thought, we decided on Tongli in Suzhou. The journey was quite smooth, taking about an hour by metro, followed by a short uber ride from the station.
When we arrived in Tongli, we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was, almost as if we had the entire town to ourselves.
The sprawling compound, filled with dynasty-era pavilions, small bridges over the flowing emerald green water, gardens, charming old shops gave us a fascinating glimpse into life during the olden days. It felt like stepping back in time.

In the coming months, Suzhou can be considered the pinnacle of autumn travel
When it comes to enjoying autumn, the autumn scenery of Suzhou gardens is unparalleled.
I went to Suzhou for two days last autumn
and was deeply impressed by the traditional aesthetics of our ancestors.
Every brick and tile, every step and scene, every meticulously crafted composition
creates a framed view that outlines a stunning picture, which will captivate you at first sight.
The combination of gardens and autumn scenery is what I consider the pinnacle.
Experiencing the romance of autumn in this beautiful environment is truly amazing.

📌【Suzhou Autumn Tips】
✅The red maples start changing color in early November and turn completely red by the end of November.
✅The best viewing period is in early December; the ginkgo viewing period is relatively short, usually concentrated at the end of November and early December.
✅You can buy tickets in advance to enter the garden. To take photos without people, go early and be in the first batch to enter when the garden opens.

Suzhou in Autumn|Another day when the security guard didn't expect to become famous
The security guard probably didn't expect his workplace to become a photo spot.
When I went there, the guard was still lazily resting, but soon more people and cars arrived.
I have to say, recently this place has become very popular for taking photos, with various wedding photo shoots gathering here.
It truly is beautiful. The architectural design makes you feel like you've traveled to Europe without spending a penny. The red bricks and black windows look great in any photo.
I recommend pairing with dark vintage-style outfits for better photos.
📍Location: Former Suzhou Customs Office
(Navigation can directly find it)
🚘Parking: Parking is not allowed inside, it's recommended to take a taxi. Parking randomly at the entrance might get you a ticket.
Suzhou in October is particularly gentle, come and check in with your friends.

Come to Suzhou and you'll want to live in this city's Peach Blossom Land forever!
Traveling to Suzhou, I did a little research online and booked two nights at the Kimpton Zhuhui Hotel on Zhuhui Road! The butler will contact you in advance!
The hotel is very close to the Master of the Nets Garden, within walking distance, and all the attractions are just a ten-minute drive away. Arriving at the hotel at noon, I found it was in a commercial area, with many restaurants in Huanyu Hui having very nice environments!
From the moment you enter the hotel, you can feel the excellent service attitude. There will be a staff member to help open the car door and carry your luggage. No deposit is required for check-in, and they will help push your luggage to the room. They also upgraded our room. Overall, the hotel's service is good. As for cleanliness, I specifically checked some corners, including whether there were watermarks on the glasses. Everything was very clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. My friends and I fell asleep instantly, haha!
The hotel's breakfast is also very rich, with both Chinese and Western options. My favorite was the buns, which were even better than those outside~
There is also a free social hour, but we didn't experience it because we had plans to go out. However, we really liked the hotel's garden style. In the morning, you can take a walk, have a leisurely breakfast, and experience the slow life of Suzhou~
