Merah Putih located in Seminyak is a fanatic dining experience if you are craving Indonesian food.
The ambience is a vibrant indoor garden which gives a tropical vibe.
I recommend trying the Jangkang, Bak Pao Sapi, Bebek Goreng, and Sate Tempe if you are looking for small bites.
Also you must try their Coconut Espresso Martini. This is one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had!

MERAH PUTIH RESTAURANT - BALI
Merah Putih restaurant is located in Seminyak and amongst the best restaurants in Bali. Representing the Indonesian flag (Merah Putih literally translates red white) this is one of the best haute cuisine restaurants in Bali. The menu at Merah Putih restaurant celebrates Indonesia’s finest cuisine, culture, craftsmanship & people. Indonesian classics are served along side creative dishes that experiment with traditional spices & flavours from across the archipelago.A perfect balance between visual design, eco sustainability and functional working spaces. Alternative materials and unconventional techniques have come together for the purpose of showcasing the heights of Indonesian talent and craftmanship. Translucent roof columns capture rainwater and channel it into the water-flow system. Advanced UV filters purify and recycle water, meaning the restaurant draws on no precious groundwater reserves. Solar filtered glass walls meanwhile let the light through to allow the landscaped interior to thrive, yet keep the tropical heat out. The indoor gardens create intimacy amid the majesty, meaning you can enjoy your dinner for two or a large social event with family and friends. A must try on your visit to Bali!

A Culinary Journey at Merah Putih: Savoring Bali’s Fusion Flavors
#indonesiatrip #bali
Bali is a paradise not just for its stunning landscapes but also for its vibrant and diverse cuisine. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of dining at Merah Putih, an exquisite restaurant located in Seminyak, known for its contemporary take on traditional Indonesian dishes. The menu is a delightful fusion of local flavors with modern twists, and each dish is crafted with precision and creativity.
Here are the highlights from my culinary adventure:
1. Bak Pao Nangka (4.5/5.0)
This dish was an absolute treat! A soft, fluffy mantou bun filled with young jackfruit rendang, complemented by fresh coriander and crunchy daikon. The side of sambal hijau (green chili sauce) added a punch of heat that elevated the flavors even further. The jackfruit’s meaty texture and the rendang’s richness created a fascinating and delicious combination, making it a must-try for those looking for something unique.
2. Sate Tempe (4.8/5.0)
One of my favorites, this dish features chargrilled tempeh skewers paired with capsicum and leek. The accompanying peanut sauce, enhanced with a touch of chili and soy, was the perfect dipping sauce. The smokiness from the grill, combined with the rich, nutty flavor of the sauce, made every bite irresistible. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys tempeh or wants to try a local dish with a robust, flavorful twist.
3. Babi Panggang (4.0/5.0)
This slow-roasted pork belly was tender and flavorful, served with crispy fried cauliflower, fresh vegetables, and puffed pork skin for added texture. The pork belly’s richness paired nicely with the crunchy elements, offering a great introduction to Balinese pork dishes. While the flavors were more subtle compared to other dishes, it’s a solid choice for those wanting to experience the island’s traditional cuisine.
4. Mie Lobster (4.5/5.0)
A standout dish, the homemade egg noodles were stir-fried with a local sambal that provided just the right amount of heat, perfectly complementing the freshness of the lobster. The noodles were cooked to perfection, slightly chewy with a delightful spice kick, and the lobster added a luxurious touch. A great choice for seafood lovers looking for a dish with bold Balinese flavors.
Merah Putih offers a serene and stylish setting, especially during the afternoon when the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch with friends or family. If you’re in Seminyak and want to explore Indonesian flavors with a modern twist, this place is a must-visit. From the creative use of local ingredients to the impeccable presentation, dining here is a true culinary journey that captures the essence of Bali’s vibrant food scene.

Garden Styled
One of my favourite places to eat in Bali. I really love the atmosphere here, with the super high ceiling, modern furnishings and conducive lightings. Just like many restaurants in Bali, the service here is also commendable. They truly excel in all three aspects. We opted for a variety of dishes, including soft-shell crab, succulent pork ribs, savory dumplings, flavorful cauliflower, and a refreshing gado-gado salad. The dumplings and gado-gado were the clear standouts, but everything was delicious.

Lovely Balinese ristorante
This is a slightly fancy place and so it is priced accordingly. While you will be eating indonesian but i would say it's a more refined version, a more presentable one meant to suit the foreign pallete too. The food and cocktails were exceptional, and the service was just as good. Very fresh food, didn't get sick! The seafood and non seafood menu were both tasty.
To think of it, since it was 4 of us, we ordered quite a lot of food and they were served very quickly. Almost all which we have ordered are really delicious. Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant as well. They were even considerate of allergies if any, as i remember them checking with us when we ordered seafood dishes. Overall, My family really enjoyed themselves here and everyone was stuffed!
