I really like the city of Munich, the historical charm in the old town is particularly strong, with one church and Gothic building after another, making it very suitable for a leisurely stroll. The main attractions are all in the old town Altstadt.
🏷️Recommended duration: 1 day
🏷️Route: Karlstor👉Burgersaalkirche👉Burgersaalkirche👉Marienplatz👉St. Peter's Church👉Frauenkirche👉Munich Residenz👉Hofgarten👉Odeonsplatz
🌟Marienplatz
The Marian Column, New Town Hall, Fish Fountain, and other landmark buildings tell the story of this city; there are also many restaurants around. Rococo style, great for photos.
【New Town Hall】
The most eye-catching feature of the New Town Hall is the Glockenspiel performance. The carillon rings at 11:00, 12:00, and 17:00 from March to October, with six different tunes, now fully powered by solar energy. We happened to catch the 12:00 performance~ very healing.
🌟Climbing the 'Big Three' in Munich's Old Town
The New Town Hall, Frauenkirche, and St. Peter's Church all offer views from their towers. Since 2012, the Frauenkirche's tower has been closed for renovation, and it is not the best angle. From St. Peter's Church, you can simultaneously view Marienplatz.
🌟Munich Residenz
Equivalent to the Forbidden City, it is the largest palace located within a city in Germany. The interior is grand and great for photos.
‼️Tips:
1. There are no fixed guided tours, but you can rent a free audio guide with English and German introductions;
2. You can take photos during the visit but cannot use flash or tripods;
3. Large bags are not allowed inside, but you can use the free storage at the ticket office;
4. You can only bring a plastic bottle of drink under 0.5 liters inside, no other food is allowed, and there are no restaurants or cafes inside the museum.
🌟Odeonsplatz
Compared to the old town, there are not many tourists here. In fact, the area covered by Odeonsplatz is very large, including the Hofgarten, Feldherrnhalle, and Theatinerkirche. The northern edge of the Hofgarten and the starting point of Ludwigstraße are also included.
🍴Restaurants
Alois Dallmayr: A Michelin two-star restaurant with over three hundred years of history. Great environment and delicious desserts.
🛍️Maximilianstraße
This street is now the most famous luxury shopping street in Munich's old town, and also home to one of Munich's most famous five-star hotels, the Four Seasons Hotel. The eastern section of Maximilianstraße is more historical in appearance, and after crossing the old town ring road, Maximilianstraße becomes wide and grand, with lush green spaces in the middle and harmonious architectural styles hidden behind the trees.

@ MARIENPLATZ, MUNICH.
Marienplatz (English: Mary's Square, i.e. St. Mary, Our Lady's Square) is a central square in the city centre of Munich, Germany. It has been the city's main square since 1158.
During the Middle Ages, markets and tournaments were held in the Marienplatz, which was originally called Markth ("market"), Schranne ("grain market") and later Schrannenplatz ("grain market square"). After said grain market was moved into the modern glass-and-iron Schranne near "Blumenstrasse" in 1853, the square received its new name, starting 9 October 1854.

We travelled to Munich when we were travelling last December to Europe. It was the Christmas festive season and thus we wanted to visit a Christmas Market. Thus, what better place to visit than the one at Marienplatz. The market was quite big and have beautiful decorations and a big spectacular Christmas Tree. The majestic buildinga around it made the place look even more beautiful.

Marienplatz Central Square Munich Germany
Visited Marienplatz which is Mary’s Square in English. It is located in the city centre of Munich Germany. This new city hall was built between 1867 and 1909 with old looking neo-Gothic style. The old city hall is to the east in the direction of the valley which is almost 400 years old. Their Lord Mayor, city council and city administration has been residing in the new city hall. This is good starting point for a visit to the Bavarian capital. There are many stores and restaurants around Marienplatz. It is a major attraction if you are visiting Munich.

Munich,
Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The city is known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration and its beer halls, including the famed Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589. In the Altstadt (Old Town), central Marienplatz square contains landmarks such as Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus (town hall), with a popular glockenspiel show that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century

Christmas 🎄 market @ Marienplatz Munich
#2023travelwish
The Munich Christmas Market "Münchner Christkindlmarkt" takes place from November 21 to December 24, 2022 at Marienplatz.
We took train from Harras Station to Marienplatz station. The market is right outside the station.
We can see the big Christmas tree in front of the station. Get a cup of hot miller wine and sausage with bun, we can walk stall by stall in this winter time.
Travel wish for #2023travelwish is to travel around the world with my loved one.

Munich, Germany one of the famous city in Europe. Some people know this city from famous football club Bayern Munich some people knows from others people telling some story. By visiting Munich on October is the best time for joining Oktoberfest, it's wonderful wolrd of beer lovers. Although I was enjoy schweinshaxe the most famous German dishes cooked from pork knuckles with a glass of beer. I recommented you will love this menu. There are too crowded, it would be better to search and reserve for the table, if not do it you may can't find available table that will make you upset. After dinner let's enjoy ther city by walking to the old building square name Marienplatz , it's the heart of Munich. My next travel wish is looking forward to explore the whole Germany.

Went to Munich! Stayed at the Marienplatz area (which is Munich's city area) and it's very handy as you are in the central area. Easy to walk around - alot of shops and beautiful buildings! You see buildings like these commonly that it's insane. If you go to Munich - definitely stay in the Marienplatz area. There's so much to do and see over there.

Munich’s famous square
A visit in Munich usually starts with exploring the famous square of Marienplatz in the old town. I like that our tour guide made our group take a train going to Marienplatz and as we exited the stairs we are greeted with the views of the old town hall.
The square is home to beautiful architectures, monuments, and historic buildings; as well as a center for many shops, restaurants and events. I love strolling the streets with the old and new town halls and wouldn’t mind spending a day or two here with its rich offerings.
As we visited in October, a festive month for Munich as it celebrates the Oktoberfest, we saw many locals too in dirndl attire. We capped the night with a dinner and beer in one of the famous beer halls. Prost! 😊🍻🍂

Munich, land of breweries and Oktoberfest
Work Trip has to come to an end. But last stop the city of Munich! This is the capital and one of the biggest population here in Germany. Munich is fame for the many breweries and Oktoberfest, so if you love food and beers and parties, this is the place to be.
There are also several place of interest here like the Eisbachwelle, where you will be able to do some surfing on a man made river only if you are someone brave enough for the cold, and the waves here are endless!
You can also learn about the history of the Nazi Movement in Munich via the tours and tickets of Marienplatz. You can book these on the trip app which is a walking tour. Or maybe visit the Munich Residenz where this was home to the high rankers government of the barbarian rulers.
These are all tourists attractions and will require an entrance ticket.

Marienplatz: The heart of Munich
Marienplatz (square) has been at the centre of the city since Munich was founded by Henry the Lion in 1158. It was the point at which all of the new city's most important streets met and for centuries it was the centre of Munich's life. The main attraction is the double glockenspiel which is a must see. The Glockenspiel is the clocktower of this building. The clock show goes on at 11:00, 12:00 and 17:00. Beautiful building and so huge. It's difficult to get the entire building in one photo.
Definitely worth a stroll past to view it.

Things to see around Marienplatz
Marienplatz is the heart of the city of Munich. Since 1158, this has been the city’s main square. Its a must visit when you arrive in Munich. The square has a column called the Marian column, which was built in 1638 to celebrate the end of the Swedish occupation and for having spared from the Thirty Years War.
During Christmas, Munich’s popular Christkindlmarkt or Christmas market is set up at the square, the nearby New Town Hall becomes a site to enjoy free Christmas concerts and ring in the festive cheer!
Day or night Marienplatz is full of activities and bustling with energy. We have visited the square both at day and night time and loved it equally. You can also enjoy a drink and schnitzels right here in the heart of Munich. Most walking tours commence at Mary’s Square. okay

The most lively square in Munich, the winter is really lucky
impression of Munich, is a passionate city, the annual Oktoberfest, attracting many visitors to come here for beer and carnival.
Although there was no beer festival, but in Munich's liveliest Marienplatz, drinking a German dark beer, eating a German sausage, is the warmest taste of this winter.
Loociwin.
Marian Platz, one of Munich's landmarks. Before 1807, there was a market in Marion Square, and there was a pillar of the Virgin in the middle, expressing the gratitude and love of the Virgin Mary. There is a fish spring in the northeast corner of the square. In the past, it was the place where the butcher apprentices held the ceremony.
Continue to go ahead is the Viktor Arian market, also known as the grain market or the food market, is one of the largest food and food markets in Europe. As a meatless and unhappy nation, you can see thousands of sausages here. It is also suitable for feeling the atmosphere of the local market, and can also find good souvenirs.

Falling in love at first sight with Munich's beauty, which has both the hustle and bustle of life and a touch of fairyland
The time in Munich was very short, but the hustle and bustle of the Viktualienmarkt and the fairyland atmosphere of the English Garden made it unforgettable.
If you only have one day in Munich, at least visit these places.

Munich is one of the beautiful city in Germany , as well as in deutsch called Deutschland. This place is beautiful with the architecture style and lots of colourful buildings. In the recent trip to Munich, I have been the city area to explore and captured some gorgeous moments from the observation tower. I captured the Marienplatz which means the city square over there and went to the church to see the incredible painting on the ceiling. I really liked this city!
