Because of the saying "Half of Nanjing's history is in Niushou Mountain," I came to Nanjing from Hangzhou. In the changing landscape, you can see a thousand years of history. The Foding Palace is magnificent on a sunny day, but it was drizzling when I visited, so I didn't get a photo of the golden "durian shell." However, Niushou Mountain is also poetic after the rain. This time, I took a new route, "Dongchan Xinlu," which is less well-known and a niche route. From the "Huaxin Gate" in front of the Foding Palace, I walked up the bluestone road with an umbrella, surrounded by the fragrance of osmanthus. The whole road is quiet, with only the sound of birds and insects, which fits the name "Xinlu" (Heart Journey). If this is your first time visiting Niushou Mountain, it's more convenient to enter from the east gate. Take the shuttle bus to Tianque Station, and the escalator will take you to the Foding Palace and Foding Pagoda. This is a great spot to capture the Zifeng Tower, one of the must-take photos in Nanjing. 3️⃣ Stroll along Jiangsu Road, check out the Xianfeng Bookstore, and then head to Yihe Road. The autumn atmosphere is incredibly rich, and the Republic of China-era buildings are perfect for street photography in the afternoon's yellow light and shadow. 4️⃣ Visit Jiming Temple and climb the Ming City Wall (ticket: CNY 20). When I went, the lighting wasn't great, and Jiming Temple and Zifeng Tower were backlit. However, Xuanwu Lake was beautiful, with its blue surface contrasting with the city wall, truly deserving its reputation as Nanjing's "sea." 5️⃣ Pilu Temple (ticket: CNY 20), where you can get three incense sticks for blessings.
