Student Friendly City 👉🏼 Leicester
Hi there 👋🏻 I am currently doing my PhD degree at University of Leicester. I would like to share my thoughts about the city of Leicester to whom interested in studying or traveling here. Leicester is a city in England’s East Midlands region. 🇬🇧 Maybe you are familiar with this city from Premier League because the city team won the 2015-16 season. 🐯 This small city is very green and peaceful so you can find lots of parks to enjoy your free time 🏞️🌲🌳. Especially the Victoria and Abbey Parks are the favourite ones of localians 🦆🐿️🌳. Arch of Remembrance is worth to be seen during trip, it is located in Victoria Park (the one next to University of Leicester). To head city center, you should walk through the street called New Walk. The city museum will be on your left side. 🏛️ Just after passing museum, you'll see the train station on your right. If you keep on walking straight, you'd arrive in city centre which you can see Clock tower, city hall, market, and fountain 🛒🗼🕑⛲. If you want to know more, just leave a comment and ask anything. #Leicester#unitedkingdom#UniversityofLeicester #AbbeyPark #VictoriaPark
Abbey park 🏞️
Abbey Park is Leicester’s premier park and lies approximately one mile north of the city centre 🌇
The River Soar divides this beautiful park into two distinct areas:
On the western side of the river are the fascinating Abbey Grounds with the remains of the twelfth century Leicester Abbey, and the ruins of Cavendish House, a seventeenth century mansion. Abbey Park Café ☕️ and pets 🐶🐈🐇🐱corner are also located on this side of the park.
Diwali in Leicester 🏮🎆🇬🇧
Now that November has almost come to an end, I inevitably reflect over what has happened throughout the month. And one of my favourite memories is celebrating Diwali in Leicester - surrounded by lights, fireworks, laughter, joy and sugary Indian sweets, I really immersed myself in the celebrations.
Diwali, or Dipawali, is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians.
With its huge Hindu community, Leicester is the perfect place to join Diwali celebrations.Leicester is a friendly city, bursting with heritage and culture. We have wonderful attractions, top restaurants and great night life.

Beautiful city
Leicester is a big city and it has been named the top performing city in the East Midlands. The city lies on the River Soar and close to the end of the national forest. It has two universities, University of Leicester and De montfort University. It is also famous with it's football stadium and having a very strong football team. #celebratewithtrip #mytripvlog
sunset in a tropical country
Great time spent
What a beautiful view
Fun trip out with family to the countryside 😆😆#travel #naturalwonders
While individual preferences typically determine what we find attractive, almost all of us can agree on one of the most beautiful sights in the world: a full sunset.#travel #sunset
here I represented the rights and participation team from Leicester City Council, on remembrance sunday service which the entire city paid respects to the fallen.
Spotting stags at Bradgate Park
Bradgate park has a massive, open area to walk around. There are some challenging hills for all the hikers out there and this beautiful tower to sit by and enjoy a snack. It's a short drive from the city of Leicester or from Loughborough via the heritage Great Central Railway steam train if you decide to go on a sunday. It is also close to the Swithland reservoir if you want to view the calming water after your walk.

[Tips]
I recently stayed at the Ramada Encore in Leicester and had a good experience. The hotel is close to the city center, which made it easy to explore.
The city has a nice mix of old and new buildings. I loved seeing the Leicester Cathedral and the King Richard III Visitor Centre—both were very interesting.
The food was a highlight for me. I tried some amazing Indian dishes that were full of flavor. The restaurant staff were really friendly, which made the meal even better.
Shopping in Leicester was fun, too! I found a lot of great shops in the Highcross shopping center, where I picked up some unique souvenirs.
One of my favorite parts was visiting the Leicester Market. It was lively, with many stalls selling fresh food and local crafts. It really gave me a feel for the local culture.
Beauties in the Bradgate park
Leicester is a student city and crowded but you can always find some pure nature around the city. It was amazing that animals freely move around the park and no body hurt them or even go close to them. I highly recommend visiting this park specially for students the want a place to relax and get rid of stress they have because of exams and assignments. On weekends is busy but other days is less crowded.#Bradgatepark #Stressfreezone #100waysoftravel
Leicester's true hiddem gem
James Bistro is the friendliest (and quirkiest) cafe around. The walls are adorned with the work of local artists, you can play your own vinyl and there's a free table football table. But best of all, the food is a delight. Cooked fresh to order, portions are generous and everything is delicious. There is a wide choice of menu options for gluten free and vegan diets too. This friendly, family run cafe is tucked away behind the mammoth Highcross shopping centre but is well worth seeking out.#mytravelhacks 📍Address: East Bond Street, Leicester, LE1 4SX🕰️Business Hours: Tues - Sat
