Traveling in Tengchong.

... After ending my stay in Dali, I continued my road trip westward to the border city of Tengchong. The late autumn season has blessed this city with an abundance of charm, making it as alluring as a piece of jade. As I traveled further away from the bustling city, I slowed down my usual hurried pace. Sometimes I stayed in ancient towns, other times in villages. I would wake up early to visit the market, and when I got tired, I would soak in a hot spring. I fully immersed myself in the slow-paced life of this border city, living each day carefree and free-spirited. Life is a wilderness, and it should be lived this way. In the mountains, I had the fortune of meeting the Wa people, a fellow ethnic group. In the streets and alleys, I could easily find a delicious treat called pine flower cake. In Heshun Ancient Town, I visited the largest rural library in China. In Tengchong Old Town, I discovered the only urban waterfall in the country that rivals the Huangguoshu Waterfall (Dieshuihe Waterfall). In Beihai Wetland, I learned about a plant called water shield, known as the "bird's nest of the water." In the most beautiful late autumn, I visited the largest ginkgo village in the country. In the Western Yunnan War of Resistance Memorial Hall, I learned about the heroic history of the Chinese Expeditionary Force. Ten days of wandering, exploring ancient towns, visiting wetlands, admiring ginkgo trees, soaking in hot springs, watching waterfalls, seeking out the Wa people, and reading about the war of resistance. I am proud of this beautiful land and give a thumbs up to the charming Tengchong. Tengchong, located at the ideal latitude of 25 degrees north, not only boasts rich and unique natural resources but is also a city steeped in history and culture. It is known as the land of geothermal energy and the land of literature. Here, every household has hot water, and every family has a hot spring. Over 300 years ago, the great traveler Xu Xiake traveled thousands of miles to reach Tengchong, the farthest city he visited in his lifetime. He couldn't help but exclaim, "I do not envy the birds of the heavenly pool, I am content to be a person of the hot springs."
