2024 Manila Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in September)

Manila is the capital city of the Philippines. New and old are interwoven with each other in this city which integrates eastern and western culture. Because it was once ruled by Spain, this place has quite the southwestern European atmosphere. Manila has a forest of skyscrapers. Its many streets and churches hold a hundred years of history, as well as gardens, alleys and byways full of blooming flowers. Downtown Manila is an excellent place to appreciate the city’s Spanish style. The Manila Cathedral, or Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, San Augustin Church and the Casa Manila museum are all located in the city. You can take a horse-drawn carriage tour around to visit them. Manila Bay, especially the waterfront Roxas Boulevard, is a beautiful place from which to watch the sunset. You also visit some places in the suburban outskirts of Manila, such as Tagatai to hike up the volcano or Pagsanjan to take part in exciting activities like rafting.

    This is my 4th visit to Manila, with the experience of the previous 3 times, there is no sense of unfamiliarity at all, so there is no particular concern about those recent problems. The only concern was only the typhoon issue, the 1st typhoon formed in the Philippines on the 26th of May, and I also happened to arrive however, luck was kind of good, only the night of the 26th met with heavy rain in Manila, and the weather was good on the 27th! There are not many attractions in Manila, they are in two areas, you can play a day at a fairly leisurely pace. My personal favourite is the Agustin Church, and the Ferris wheel sunset, enough netflix, the atmosphere is full of sense! 1 Day Tour Route Chinatown - Santiago Castle - Manila Cathedral - St Augustine's Church - Lunch in King City - Rizal Park - Manila Bay - Ferris Wheel on the beach - Dinner and shopping at the malls Tour Duration Castle tour takes 1h, Manila Cathedral 30min, St Augustine's Cathedral + Museum 1.5h. Monday all museums are closed, I did not go, go to the park next to the beach to see, to go to the museum of each museum is recommended to leave enough 1h Tickets Castle visit 75p Church does not need to spend, Augustine church exhibition hall needs 200p My advice Augustine must go to its museum to see, there are a lot of paintings on the first floor, the promenade is very atmospheric, the interior of the church is also very good shot, if you meet the guide to explain, it will be very interesting!
