A historic famous building by the Dian Lake in Kunming

The Grand View Pavilion is located on the shore of Dian Lake to the southwest of Kunming. It is a traditional Yunnan ancient building with a triple-eaved pointed top. The building has a square floor plan, with terraces on all sides, facing the water to the south. The terraces are surrounded by neatly cut limestone, with stone slabs on top, and the building is connected to the corridor on the west side. The Grand View Pavilion not only inherits the mainstream traditional Chinese architectural culture but also features local ethnic cultural elements, such as the 'Five Inks' of Kunming paintings and the wood carvings on the eaves brackets, which are shaped like elephant heads or floral patterns, reflecting the blend of Central Plains culture and frontier ethnic culture. Grand View Park is currently open to the public for free, and friends who like it must come and visit when they are in Kunming.
