Underrated Jianshui, regretting only coming for a day.

Jianshui, a small town that friends who have been there can't stop praising. Some say it's the best place to eat in Yunnan, while others say the slow life here is addictive. You can visit during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday to experience it for yourself. ✅ Jianshui Ancient City Train 🔹 Highlights: A must-try experience, the Jianshui Ancient City Train runs twice a day (9am and 2:30pm), covering nearly 13km and passing through Lin'an Station, Shuanglong Bridge Station, Xiang Hui Bridge Station and Tuanshan Village. 🔹 Scenery: Enjoy the beautiful scenery of towns, lotus ponds and rice fields along the way. 🔹 Ticket price and discounts: The ticket price is 100 yuan, including a bottle of mineral water and lion cake. If you stay in Tuanshan Village for 1.5 hours, you can buy tickets from the train staff for 5 yuan less. ✅ Shuanglong Bridge 🔹 History: Originally with only three arches, it was later extended to 14, but the connection points are barely noticeable. 🔹 Experience: Sitting on the bridge is very cool and comfortable. ✅ Tuanshan Village 🔹 Features: A village where a single family lives, with a peaceful environment and many well-preserved old houses. 🔹 Culture: The wood carvings and paintings on the buildings are very exquisite, and there is a strong sense of life. ✅ Jianshui Ancient City 🔹 Free attractions: A pedestrian street that retains the traditional architectural style, with many small shops worth exploring. 🔹 Zhu Family Garden: Known as the "Southwestern Grand View Garden", it has a quiet and elegant environment. ✅ Transportation 🚄 High-speed rail: It takes about 2 hours from Kunming to Jianshui. 🚗 Self-driving: It takes about 2.5 hours from Changshui Airport to Jianshui. ✅ Accommodation recommendations 🔹 Recommendation: It is recommended to stay in or near the ancient city for easy exploration and experience. ✅ Food recommendations 🔹 Grilled tofu: Jianshui's shining calling card, featured in the first season of "A Bite of China". 🔹 Other delicacies: Grass sprout rice noodles, barbecue, steam pot chicken, papaya water, etc. It is recommended to bring more stomach capacity to taste them. 📝 Travel tips 🔹 The train was once the only inch-gauge railway in China, a must-try experience in Jianshui 🔹 You can try the well water of Dabanjing, the most famous well in Yunnan. There is a constant stream of people fetching water from the well every day 🔹 I love the wood carvings and paintings on the buildings in Tuanshan Village, they are very exquisite. 🔹 In Jianshui, you can basically walk around the ancient city, and most places can be reached on foot. For a small number of places, I chose to take a taxi. The local taxi starting price is not expensive.
