Guan Sheng Street used to be home to the residences of high-ranking officials and nobles from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as some distinctive buildings and historical sites—the City God Temple, Guan Sheng Temple, Gongbao Mansion (the residence of Zeng Biguang, the governor of Guizhou in the Qing Dynasty), the former residences of the brothers Fu Dazhen and Fu Daikai, who were hailed as the 'leaders of literature,' and the 'Wang Well' dug by Wang Renzhong, the Grand Secretary who moved to Hongya at the end of the Yuan Dynasty over 600 years ago. There is also a Catholic church built in 1916 with a construction area of 3,500 square meters. All these make it the street with the most well-preserved ancient buildings and rich cultural heritage in Hongya City.
