Mercure Zürich City Reviews

This hotel really need some room for improvement. Our room lacked basic amenities like toothbrush and bottled drinking water, and the bath towels were old, stained, and even had holes… Would expect cleanliness and upkeep to be better for the price paid.. Furthermore, the staff at the breakfast buffet were unfriendly, unapproachable and seemed irritated both mornings we were there. On the positive note, the breakfast buffet had a nice variety, and the hotel’s location is relatively convenient, about a 10 min train ride from Zurich HB. Overall, it wasn’t the experience we expected, and we won’t be returning. For the price paid, it didn’t match the service and amenities level. We can pay the same price for other hotels.

The good: (1) Price is decent, located 1 stop away from Zurich HB. Also has Coop and Migros nearby. Some restaurants around the train station but not many choices. (2) Bed and pillows are very comfortable The not so great: (1) No kettle provided, so don’t expect any free coffee / tea in the room, which you will normally expect. You need to get down to the lobby to get hot water which is super inconvenient (2) No fridge in the room, so expect to consume all cold drinks etc unless you want lukewarm drinks (3) No safe in the room Technically, expect a super basic room with just bed, tv and toilet. Not something I expect from a Mercure brand.

4 star hotel but the room we got was very minimal - no bathrobes / no sandals / no tea bags nothing. Location is far from Zürich center but many trains to go to Zurich HB. Would not recommend for tourist travelers but ok for business travelers

Hotel was rather disappointing for a 4* hotel Rooms clean, rather smallish, no chair There was a desk which just takes space, too small for a laptop ..so not really clear why in the room Service in the spa is disappointing. Mentioned 2h before the spa closed to the staff that there is not hot water in the urn, no fruits in the fruit bowl... The answer was simply that there will be tomorrow Long queue to check in and only one staff member on call

Hotel is perfect with good service, spacious room, nice gym. It’s about 7mins walk to the train station. Will this hotel again !

Great and convenient location , next to the train station. Many tourist groups in the hotel, had difficult time to get breakfast done. 

Amazing breakfast! We loved it, great variety and super fresh. Mercure hotel is massive as well, has everything you need with a grocery shop nearby.

It comes with great value. Excellent location which is near to the train station and bus station. Very convenience to go to the city center for shopping or other tourist attraction. Breakfast is good. There is a big supermarket called Coop next door. The room is spacious with high ceiling. Staff look a bit cool but they r quite helpful. What a comfortable and pleasant stay!

Modern and Clean. Located near Railway station. The bathroom design for both the rooms we had stayed is really bad. Water spills out after shower, difficulty in using the same door for both toilet and shower with our double occupancy of the room. Pillows and mattress provided are among the most comfortable we have experienced. We also enjoyed having the mini supermarket at the end of the hotel building.

Room are clean, service was good. Just the twin room smaller than I expected

Perfect hotel! Love the cleanliness and the location, would definitely recommend.

Not bad great location near Altstetten station supermarkets beside

1) Very poor service with mini bar not refilled for several days stay, no phone in room 2) Cleanliness to be improved with sheets to be changed daily unless given option given with notification/cars. Use glasses and not even cleaned and changed afterwards 3) No amenities provided in room, neither at front desk - how is it possible that this is unavailable even at request? 4) Location quite far, 15/20mn away from city center

Super small conform room until can’t open our luggage properly. Sauna room was everybody with nude body 😅
