There are several baths and you can enjoy it. The rental open-air bath that no one comes in is especially relaxing, but the large public bath and open-air bath are also comfortable as wide 々. The room was clean, the meal was delicious and the amount was too much. I thought that Nakai was a little too cheerful? But I was worried about the color 々. There is a little bit of a luxury inn in Hakone, but I feel that Fukiya is handmade but sophisticated hospitality. I thought I would go again.

First of all, it is embarrassing to have been guided to the 3rd floor of the building only by stairs. It is inconvenient to go to the bath, and the handrail on the stairs from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor is not installed on the left side when going down, which is dangerous. refrigerator. Small items include alcohol and mineral water. In the freezer at the top of the same warehouse, there was leftover food from the ice cream monaka of a guest who had stayed there before (I clapped my hands and laughed). I wonder if you understand Japanese. When I was let through the room, I gave an elderly woman (Japanese woman) a gift, but the Chinese woman did not thank me until the next morning. The person at the counter must be Japanese, after all. I was whispering. I wondered if I should say that to the customer. In the morning, while I was waiting for breakfast at the table after raising the futon, a centipede started walking on the tatami mats. I exterminated it and left it on the tatami mat, but the Chinese waitress pretended not to see it. Way to go. Originally it is a dried fish shop, but it seems that the inn business is being forced. Even if you are guided to the parking lot, weeds grow as much as you want. I should have parked in the paid parking lot. About 3 hours after checking out, when I was on my way home, I received a call on my cell phone asking if the room key had been returned. Great phone call with. The young proprietress appears in the media and seems to be doing her best, but she doesn't come to the counter. . I don't know. Even if the food and bath (small and dirty) are good, it will have to be rated low.

Hotel Shiroyama might be easily overlooked by foreign travelers. And there may be a reason for that. It doesn't really cater to non-Japanese speakers. That said, if you can speak some Japanese and you have a good understanding of Japanese etiquette and rules, you can have an excellent experience at this hotel. (I am a Westerner, I can speak some Japanese, and I have a Japanese husband. All of this was greatly to my benefit, so, keep that in mind as you read this review.) Hotel Shiroyama is, depending on what part of the hotel you are in, quite old. There are parts of it that look like it's from the Showa era, with maroon walls and old-style hotel carpeting. But then... in the men's sento (public bath), it was incredibly beautiful and clean and modern. Small, yes, but still, truly lovely. Also, the rooms: there must have been a ”refresh” on all the bathrooms: there were double sinks, a stall shower with an overheard attachment so you can really get a good blasting if you want one, and of course a washlet toilet with the lid that opens when you approach it. The rooms were also quite large, with a separate little sitting area near the window (although there is no view to speak of, at least from the 2nd floor). The pièce de résistance is the Japanese dinner that is served in your room. It is quite astonishing in the number of dishes that are offered: lots of small appetizers, sashimi, sumashijiru (a clear soup that is divine), beef stew covered with a baked rice cracker, several other dishes that are heated at the table, rice, of course, and more. We stopped counting and stopped eating -- it was too much. And then of course there was dessert. Now, I am not saying this was a 5-star meal; some of it was great, the rest was good. But the amount that was served was sort of mind-boggling. Of course you can also order beer or sake or soft drinks to go with the meal. Trust me; for two people, it was just way too much food, unless you have super hearty appetites and absolutely love Japanese cuisine. That said, if you are unable to sit cross-legged in a chair made for that purpose, you will be somewhat uncomfortable for the entire meal. It is all served on a low table, and while you can put your feet under the table, you will not be sitting in a position that is natural for most Westerners. There is a smallish table in the sitting room (near the window), but do not expect them to put the food there, because there are too many dishes and they won't fit. I would say the Hotel Shiroyama went above and beyond to provide a really lovely ”Japanese experience” with their dinner. Also, the breakfast served in the morning in a communal dining room was fairly hearty, but it is entirely Japanese. If you are used to eating this way, or you are craving this kind of experience you will enjoy it -- but remember, these meals are ”set.” There is no substitution for anything. They do not cater to vegetarians, so if you are one, this is not the place for you. The attend

The open-air bath in the room was very spacious and comfortable. The large public bath was next to the room, but we enjoyed the open-air bath in the room, which was fed directly from the source. There was also an indoor bath, which was also hot spring water. There was a foot bath and hot spring pool on the rooftop, so I think it would be fun even if you went with a large group. Breakfast was from 8am and check-out was at 10am, so it was a bit hectic, but we were able to relax in the bath in the room. It was difficult to get Wi-Fi, but I thought it was nice not to have to use my smartphone.
Seiranso owns the original source of hot spring water and boasts the open-air bath with the view of waterfall. It is located in the secluded place and famous for the camellia and cherry blossoms which also a convenient place for going to Hakone through Tsubaki line and Parkway if you travel by car.

A great hotel. Due to the late departure from the plane, we landed from 3pm to 8pm in Narita. The waiter at the door rushed to help pick up our luggage and said that we were overtime, but there was really no way, so far! In fact, from Narita to this 177 kilometers, it is best to take the sky accest to Shinagawa, and then change to Ito from Odawara to Yugawara. There is a bus from the station to the hotel entrance, which can be reached in 18 minutes. The hot springs are super cool, breakfast and dinner are beyond expectation, in short it is too comfortable.

As part of a tour organized by Club Med Découvertes, I spent one night (March 31, 2023) in this ryokan. I occupied room 242. The establishment seems at the end of the world. The hotel itself has no particular charm, it is a modern building located in a narrow valley. The reception is ordinary. It seems that there are not many people at reception and generally one wonders where the staff is. It is therefore impossible to get information or help. Signage is non-existent or very confusing and it is easy to get lost in a maze of corridors. Once you arrive, we give you some advice: dress up in a kimono. The one in my room is a child's kimono! So a good point for being ridiculous. The room in question, although it is large (a large room with coffee tables, where a tatami and a futon will be deployed for the night, another small room, a separate toilet, a bathroom) is totally uncomfortable. It's low in the ceiling and as I'm tall I bumped into it a lot of times, or you have to walk bent over. Impossible to open the windows or take advantage of a mini terrace. The equipment is minimal: safe, empty minibar, no wifi everywhere, air conditioner that must be unplugged to have an electrical outlet near where you have to sleep, no bedside lamp, nothing to hang your things on. , insufficient pillows, no large bath towel, ... The comfort is really very basic. The bathroom includes a sink, a shower whose shower head cannot be hung at eye level, a sort of tray for enjoying the thermal waters. There is only one small towel, which is very insufficient. The only positive point is that it's quiet. The dinner was very average, although I must admit that efforts had been made to satisfy us with a menu containing I don't know how many dishes. The breakfast is Japanese, so not suited to my tastes. There is no bar. I didn't try the onsen, not being at all ready to walk around naked in front of strangers. In summary, and as far as I am concerned (I understand very well that one could have a different opinion), this night is more folklore than hotel business. And I think the quality/price ratio is catastrophic, when you see the price of the night on online reservation sites. At this price you can find a 4 or 5* hotel without any problem. I will never try a similar experience when I return to Japan.

GGuest UserThe hotel was very nice and It was a fascinating experience for me and my friend. Cats were soooo cute and adorable. It was a terrible mistake. I didn't go to neko Cafe with my cellphone. There were so many kitties and cats.
Momo slept with us, and she was so nice and cute. She slept on my hand so I couldn't move but it was so happy. If I go to Japan next time, here will be my first destination, and I'd like to stay long days. Thank you for the nice host. Thank you.
Oh, but if u want to ride an airplane from here. Please check u have many times to go to the airport. Here is a little bit far from the airport. But It will be a nice experience for those who want to live with cats in only one day like me!
GGuest UserAt my parents' recommendation, I stayed in a room with a bed and an open-air bath. It's been a while since I've been to Yugawara, but I realized once again that it's easier to access than Hakone, especially the Gora area. The old kanji for camellia is written as ``umi pomegranate,'' and there are motifs of sea pomegranate flowers all over the hotel, and there are many types of sea pomegranate trees planted in the garden outside. If you go up the road outside the entrance of the inn, you will find a walking route along the river. It's a bit of a tough slope for people with bad legs, but I imagine it's spectacular during the season of sea pomegranates, autumn leaves, and cherry blossoms. The inn's gardener took care of such a large promenade, so I think it is well maintained. The room was spacious, and the koi pond and open-air bath in the garden were spacious and the temperature was just right. The bed was comfortable and I had a choice of pillows. Perhaps the head chef and I have the same tastes for the morning and evening meals, but overall the soup was light and elegant, and the food was as delicious as I expected. I wanted my American husband to understand how delicious this was. Nakai-san's service was also good. We made rice balls with the leftover rice from dinner. I was able to enjoy the sake tasting and Haggen-Dazs ice cream in the lounge near the public bath, which made me feel good. When I checked out, I forgot to pick up the item I bought at the souvenir shop, so I called to check on it after I got home, and they sent it to me along with a polite letter. This is a cute sea pomegranate coaster, and I will use it with care. thank you very much. At my parents' recommendation, I stayed in a room with beds and an open-air bath. Perhaps the head chef and I have the same taste buds, wonderful ”dashi” umami, and lightly salted meals of traditional Japanese ”Kaiseki” dinner and breakfast were elegant and as delicious as I expected . It was a delighted experience for my American husband to share and understand this delicate taste. Nakai-san's service was also professional. It was very nice of her to have made a rice ball with the leftover rice from dinner. It was a nice extra touch to serve Japanese Sake and Haggen-Dazs ice cream in the lounge next to the grand bath. Sauna was hot and nice as well. I highly recommend this Ryokan. Thank you very much.
I visited for the first time this time. It is best that the large hot spring bath can be reserved. There are two types of mandarin orange bath and cypress bath, and I especially like the cypress bath. The hall was very quiet and I thought there weren't many other customers, but it seemed to be quite crowded (because of the vacancy in the large communal bath). I wish I had a dissatisfaction or guidance, but there was no explanation about it at check-in, so I was worried about whether I could get it. I felt it and became stressful. I also want wifi guidance. The food is delicious and satisfying.
