Visited here for the first time unsure of what to expect but after some nice home cooked type food, the pub was pretty much empty on a Saturday night, although understand it is in a quiet area and the pub isn’t well lit up to road users. Service was friendly, however when customers ask for meals without certain things this should be taken seriously not just a case of ‘the chef would have put it on anyway’, although this wasn’t the case for us some people have very serious allergies and besides, we are paying customers after all and there wasn’t even any attempt of offering to amend what we’d actually asked for, portions are small for the price and unfortunately there was also no check back, and our table wasn’t cleared even though there was only one other table in the pub. Not the best, not the worst but I don’t think we would return in a hurry.

The food was absolutely terrible. Steak was just gristle the one plate. The steak on the other order was the same. Egg burnt. Sausage burnt. Small portions. Gammon undercooked. Not what a chef should be serving. Never again will we attend this venue.

Stayed one night, which was one too many. The only had two staff on, front of house and chef. Chef was nice, front of house no so. On check in I was told there was no breakfast included and if I wanted some, McDonands was up the road. No instructions given about overnight arrangements, that I found out later (from the chef) was that the was no one on site - and as there was no phone number, etc provided, not sure what you do if anything goes wrong! Front of house cashed up at 10:15 and as such refused to serve us another drink when we asked, and despite offering cash and to pay extra, would not budge - the Inn advertise its opening time until 11:00 - not with that member of staff. So felt like we were being send to bed at 10:15 like naught boys. The room - windows are from the last century and don’t close properly, there is no desk to work at, or s chair to sit on - so had to work sat on the bed. Sink it too small to wet-shave and the toilet masticator makes a noise every few minutes - all night. Would I stay here again - no chance!

The room was spacious but very tired and in need of some tlc. There was unfortunately some mould in the bathroom as well. The bed was comfortable and the shower was fine. Although only provided one towel for a room which slept 3! The pub itself was nice enough and a fairly quiet setting.

Comfy beds, travel kettle that you could barely fit in sink to fill, scalding shower even on number 2 so we had to run on cold settings to avoid injuries. Lack of blackout curtains meant being woken at 5am. Daily housing keeping listed didn't happen.

Good place to stop for me mid journey . Budget accommodation but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Disappointed that they do not open their restaurant for breakfast so had to stop further along at a cafe. Evening restaurant menu was pub dare but good food reasonably priced if not the largest of portions (chicken tika) . My room was at the front of the building near to the road so quite a lot of traffic noise even at night and single glazed sash windows didn't stop any noise at all.

Room No.1 was ok, bed linen and towels spotless and bathroom ok but my sister’s room No.2 was not so good and her shower room was grotty. The ‘Inn’ closes at 9pm but we were given a key to let ourselves in as residents. We booked dinner for 7pm for four on Friday evening but couldn’t then order dessert as kitchen closing just after 8pm so asked for a coffee but they had no milk! We didn’t see any other residents during our 3 day visit but my niece tried to book and was told they were full? I don’t believe any of the staff live in. it’s a weird experience being above an empty pub in the evening when we were expecting a nice cheery atmosphere.

Awful. This is a great example of terrible pub food. Couldn't find a piece of chicken in a pie or mushroom, for that matter. Seriously, if you are hungry, go to the garage up the road and buy a snickers and a bag of crisps.....it will be much more enjoyable, I promise you.
