Room view vs Customer Service.
Pros :
Credit to the lady who spoke English at the reception.
She is a gem to the hotel, she went the extra miles to ensure our plans went well.
Perfect, Xiaojie !
Becoz of her, we are willing to give 5 stars !
Cons :
Lake view, almost fully blocked by the roof of the restaurant below, which is a total disappointment !
Neverthe less, stunning mountain view.
Room tips : Go for a higher floor, the lake view might be slightly better.
Do add some fake grass carpet over the roof for a more pleasant sight.

Like the location as it is smacked in West street. Views are awesome. Down side is that West Street is crowded and could be a little noisy as you can hear the music from the bars in the area but if you close the door and windows it can block out most of the noise. Also, a little difficult to walk on the cobbled street with luggages as car cannot enter West street so you will have to walk for a bit. Hotel provide free drinks/coffee/tea at the lobby. Plus point: my room have a bird view of the entire West street with the mountains as a back drop. They also have a nice rooftop for photography with pool.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent. The receptionists Tina and Cathy helped us on many occasions and were very friendly from the beginning until the end. It's the best service that we have encountered now during our trip.
The view from our room as well as from the top floor was simply amazing. I highly recommend this hotel.

Superrrrrrrrb view with the room I booked (balcony). I highly recommend if you’d wanna wake up with a good mountain view in a quiet vicinity. Also very good services from the staff, they are all very conversational and kind. Probably one of the best vibes from the staff in any hotel I visited. The breakfast was also really good, do give their noodle (mǐ xiàn) a try ☺️ while the corners of the toilet in the room I stayed in were a bit grimy, it’s not a deal breaker for me. It also comes with afternoon tea on the rooftop cafe which offers breathtaking views. It’s also within walking distance to the western street (xī jiē). Highly recommend 👌🏽

Appreciate the upgrade by night duty manageress to their newly renovated room, which is spacious, which came with a huge super king-size bed.
The photo-taking sessions that were offered free exceeded our expectations. The shots taken were highly professional, tempting us to purchase beyond the free pictures that were allocated to us.
My wife was extremely happy with the photos and commented that the pictures taken were remarkable.
Thanks again for their great efforts to make our stay memorable.
Forgot to mention that breakfast, although it came with limited selection, offered surprisingly good local soup GUILIN NOODLE that surpasses many restaurant standards.
An added bonus was the free shuttle service to the dock where the rafting took place and West Street, among other destinations within the vicinity.
A gift upon our checkout was another surprise that delighted my wife and kids.
On top of all these, the hotel is situated near many attractions.

I liked the location of the hotel. Nestled in the nature, far away from the noise but not too far from the city center. You can take didi to west street for nightlife. The hotel is walking distance to butterfly cave. Definitely go at night. The place is fully lit😍
The hotel is divided into three buildings depending on your room type. I was in building three. The swimming pool needing cleaning. And the bricks needed repairing.
The staff are lovely and helpful. Loved my room however i wished the bathtub water was hot. It was just cold water.

Jiyun Shangyuan resort in Yangshuo is located in jiwodu village, Shili Gallery scenic area, surrounded by big banyan scenic area, Moon Mountain Scenic Area and butterfly spring scenic area. It is convenient to travel. The owner of the hotel has built more than 20 guest rooms with an area of 3500 square meters. Each room has its door opened, and the landscape is easy to see. The bright floor to ceiling window frames the landscape into the room, sleeps with the bright moon, and wakes up with the sunrise. The hotel is permeated with Zhuang culture everywhere, or the exquisite Zhuang costumes of the staff, or a beautiful Zhuang brocade, or the characteristic hang pieces that can be seen everywhere in the room, or the Zhuang tradition that still continues to welcome guests with Hydrangea Here, the Zhuang style makes Ji Yun's upper courtyard have a different charm. There are all kinds of things. In the room, whether it's a full set of advanced German Kohler sanitary ware, a jinkeri mattress from the United States, a carnation high-woven cotton series, a full set of solid wood furniture customized by private, everything is only for your intimate careIn the hot summer, grind beans and tea with the sun to taste wine; in the cold winter, taste the pure natural delicacy by the warm stove. The Butler's smile service, the private planning of the travel route, the warm atmosphere like home, the mountain and the water are not the place of residence in the journey, but more like the destination of the journey.

This hotel is perfect if you are an influencer because in this hotel everything looks so beautiful. The thing I was most impressed with was one of the drinks (within the afternoon tea service) they provide for free if stay in here. It is called the “after-raining” Yulong River. This drink has three layers which are tea, coffee, and cheezy cream. The way it mixes altogether seems exactly like the river. Beautiful and I loved it.
The staff (her name is yuanyuan /xiao wei) was quite helpful. Arranged the baby's crib, and a wall thing under the mattress to prevent the baby fall off from bed as I asked.
The hotel has a nice playground which my son loved.
As I foreigner though there is not much staff fluent in English so if you cannot speak in Chinese, there are some times you might feel inconvenienced though.
They provide us with free transportation service. So I used it to go to one of the sightseeing spots. The driver said he would pick me up at the same spot I got off but a different driver came so it took me a while to find the driver because the car was different. Therefore if you are not good at communicating in Chinese. Sometimes it is a hassle I would say.
Also, the baby crib was a bit too small for my 90cm son. It was just the size they had.

Amazing stay at the hotel, view from the is amazing and the service is just top notch. Room size was huge and very well maintained.
The hotel staff created a wechat group for us which is so convenient; we can ask/request for anything in the chat and replies were always prompt.
There’s free transport from the hotel to 西街 till 8pm. There are also free breakfast, teabreak and even night dessert!
Special shoutout to the butlers - 小王, 小岑和小姚, they are the most helpful and cheerful lot. They helped me with my many questions and were very friendly.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yangshuo!

Lovely hotel in the heart of 10 Mile Gallery. Views of the mountains are amazing. We booked 2 rooms, one in block 8 and block 2 (main building) and stayed for 3 nights. Both rooms were great. We didn't realise that block 8 was a 10 min walk through the village away from main reception. But the staff provide a round the clock buggy service to help get around. Communication is instant on WeChat with the front desk and reception and they are always happy to help. Of note 管家小苏 and 小顾 provided excellent service.
There is also an wonderful Chinese restaurant at the main building with home styled dishes. We ate there everyday!!
Amenities wise there is also a basement gym with kids play area and a table tennis table 👍. Definitely a great place if you're visiting Yangshuo and 十里画廊。

GGuest UserI really like the wooden decoration style of this hotel. It is clean and comfortable. The balcony is large. The bathroom is well designed. The bathroom grooves guide water to separate wet and dry areas. It is very comfortable. The boss and the front desk service are so enthusiastic. They gave us ginger tea on the day we arrived. It has been included in my hotel whitelist. I will definitely come again in the future.
YYana Broughlocation: this is really tucked away in a quiet corner with a beautiful view of Guilin nature. helicopter rides and bike rental is a 5 min walk away. The end of the bamboo boat ride is also conveniently around the corner
staff: all friendly, added us on wechat and would help us at any time of day. Outside is also a heated swimming pool
restaurant: only serving local dishes, but we found them to be very tasty and well made. At night snacks are served (perhaps not all the kinds of snacks that suit western standards) but still there were nuts and fruit.
Room: excellent room with private balcony, jacuzzi and breathtaking view. the room has electric opening curtains and large bathroom with latest gadgets.
IItsJimBooking and Check-In
I booked my stay at the Shixi Landscape Hotel in Yangshuo, Guilin, through Trip.com. The check-in process was very smooth and didn’t take long at all. One pleasant surprise was the option to upgrade our room for free, which we accepted. This upgraded room came with a lovely balcony. Although the staff couldn’t speak English, they were very friendly and helpful. Using a translation app made communication easy.
Room Details
We stayed in a standard double room with an upgrade to a balcony room. The room also featured a bathtub, which was a nice touch. Upon entering, the room was fairly clean, though there were some water stains on the floor and the carpet had a few dirty spots. The amenities were average, including a selection of soft drinks in the minibar and some snacks on the table. Despite these minor cleanliness issues, the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
Facilities and Services
The hotel had a restaurant where we received a complimentary breakfast upgrade. Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet our expectations. While the Chinese food selection seemed okay, the international options were quite disappointing. The sausages were undercooked, the bacon was not good, and the cereal options looked and tasted stale. The only decent international option was toast with butter. It’s a relief we didn’t pay extra for it.
Although I noticed the hotel had a spa, gym, and pool, I didn’t get a chance to use them. The pool looked nice but was small and shallow, not suitable for a serious swim. There was no room service available as far as I knew.
Location and Accessibility
The hotel’s location was fantastic, situated right next to the Li River and only a short 5-minute walk to the main shops and streets in the town. It was very easy to find and access, making it a convenient base for exploring Yangshuo.
Customer Service
The overall customer service was great. The staff were very friendly and polite, and we encountered no issues during our stay.
Overall Experience
The best part of our stay was the hotel’s prime location, which made it easy to visit tourist attractions. The hotel staff were also very helpful in arranging scooter rentals for a very reasonable price of ¥30 per day, which allowed us to explore the beautiful scenery around Yangshuo.
However, there is room for improvement. The breakfast selection, particularly the international options, needs significant enhancement. Additionally, a thorough deep cleaning of the carpets would greatly improve the room’s cleanliness.
In conclusion, while I would recommend the Shixi Landscape Hotel for its location and overall good service, it is on the pricier side for Yangshuo. Given the cost, I expected a bit more in terms of breakfast quality and room cleanliness. Nonetheless, it is a decent option for those looking to stay near the Li River and the town’s main attractions.
TTeeks Below are the advantages and disadvantages of this establishment:
Advantages:
⭐️ The staff was delightful, amiable, and supportive. On one occasion, when we couldn't find a taxi to take us back, we waited for a significant amount of time and the owner (presumably) arranged for someone to pick us up. She also provided guidance on nearby options for renting scooters and cars, and even advised us on local attractions.
⭐️ With the location being at the foot of a mountain, the view from the bedroom, balcony, and garden is stunning. It takes approximately 13-14 minutes by car to reach west street. Additionally, taking a short 10/15-minute walk around the area will lead you to a charming café nestled amidst the mountains, where we had a delightful cup of coffee.
Disadvantages:
🌟 There is no elevator available. While the building only has around 4/5 floors, it can be inconvenient to climb multiple sets of stairs after a long day or to go back for something during your stay.
⭐️ There was an unpleasant odor emanating from the bathroom, and it was quite strong. Whether it is a natural occurrence or not, it is persistent every time you visit.
⭐️ Encounter with insects: Despite visiting in April during the rainy season, there were small bugs/insects crawling on the floors of both the room and the bedroom. If you have a fear of insects like I do, I would not recommend this place, especially considering it might be worse in the summer.
⭐️ Hygiene: I found the lobby area to be the cleanest compared to the bedroom, which was clean but not up to par with thorough cleanliness. It was rather average.
In conclusion, I would recommend this place if you’re not a fussy person, as you will have basic needs met plus good service . I would not recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing stay with options for a Western or international breakfast such as cereals, eggs, or good coffee, extra services, fear of insects etc.
RrodrigopmpsWe slept one night during our stay in Xingping. The location is perfect, just next to the main street, 1 min walk to the ferry which takes you to the other side where you'll find buggies that take you to the top of the Xianggongshan mountain and 15 min walk to the bamboo rafts where the true landscape of the 20 CNY bill lies.
The hotel workers don't speak English but do all the efforts to help you out by using the translator. The boss/manager however, speaks perfectly English. If you have WeChat you'll be added to a chat where you can talk to her and ask anything you want. She will also help you with any ticket booking that you need. In a matter of minutes they organized tickets for both the bamboo raft (which in Yangshuo was almost impossible to get if you didn't queue up at 6 am...) and helicopter (highly recommended!). So we were truly impressed by how they helped us out, since we had the idea of what to do but clearly needed this efficiency and local contacts to do it smoothly. The room was very spacious and all amenities needed (they didn't have an iron in the room but it took 2 minutes for them to bring it to our room when we asked :) ). We had a great view on the 4th floor (also very recommendable as the street is very close and the high floor might add some extra privacy. The rooms clearly state the floor when you book them, so take the advantage!). There is some room for improvement in the lobby but we passed on our feedback and they seemed very eager to improve, so we truly believe it can only get better. We weren't told the breakfast options nor saw any facilities to serve it but as an exception we bought some stuff at the mini market right next to the hotel entrance which was very convenient. The check-out was relatively flexible and we were given an extra hour which was a blessing for us after a sweaty hike on the Xianggongshan mountain. All in all we were very happy with our stay!

GGuest UserWas slightly concerned about noise levels reported here but had no issues with that, though room was on the second floor on the restaurant/street side of the building. Simple but appealing room with balcony. All the bathroom fixtures etc worked well. It's a nice guesthouse, not an urban 5-star establishment, so the 5 stars I have left for the facilities are with that proviso in mind; I don't think there was an elevator, for instance. Ate early at the hotel restaurant on the terrace just outside its entrance and very much enjoyed the food--good variety, cooked well. (Unexpectedly, the restaurant was booked full the next morning with a large tour group of some sort, so grabbed a bowl of mifen at a nearby breakfast place instead.)
The real reason for leaving this review is to convey my pleasure with the helpfulness of the staff. The English-speaking women manning the reception desks were gone for the day when all power in the building cut out around 11pm. The night manager at the front desk informed me that the entire city was without power, and nothing of this nature had occurred in the past few years. (I went down to check because some hotels in China economize by turning AC off during the night, but it was clear that all power was out for the entire neighborhood at least.) He then kindly handled over a portable power bank for my phone when I mentioned it was running low. Back in bed in the dark I then got an unexpected text that my flight from Guilin to Shanghai the next night had been canceled. Wondering why, the front desk staff told me that heavy storms were expected. This would mean that all other flights would be cancelled too, and anyone like me who had to be elsewhere would be scrambling for any remaining seats the following day. At this point I was worried, as I had an international flight to catch. Remembering the train station not far outside Yangshuo, I asked about train options, and that was when a young woman who works at the hotel named Xiao Yang 小楊 came to my rescue. She pulled out her cell phone, checked the train schedules for me, gave me a couple options, recognized that only a handful of tickets remained on a high-speed rail train leaving from Guilin around midday and arriving in Shanghai before my canceled flight would have arrived. She used our passport info to book me two tickets on the train (fronting what must have been her monthly salary to do so, no questions asked, for which I immediately reimbursed her--download and validate Alipay before arriving in China folks, it's an essential tool). Took a car to the Guilin north rail station the next morning, made some fast friends in the waiting hall, and was then on the way to Shanghai before the storms hit. 小楊's willingness to drop everything and care about the travel woes of a random guest like me allowed me to totally avoid the nightmare of rebooking flights and hotels amid a scrum of other travelers to make it to Shanghai in time. Power came back on at 2am, I returned the power bank in the morning, and Xiao Yang was nowhere to be found. So thank you Xiao Yang, and thank you to the Riverview Hotel for employing people who care about their guests.
PPrairieTruthfully, I am having time finding words, and that's unusual for me. I must admit I was disappointed when Yangshuo Mountain Retreat cancelled my booking because of a wedding that had booked the place, but the photos of the garden sold me. I've been to Yangshuo perhaps five times over the last 10 years, and have stayed in every kind of place there-from a cheap hostel to the boutique rooms but my dream was to stay at YMR, where I always stop and have a whiskey by the river.
When we pulled into Liqui Town, I realized I had not explored this part of the valley and was disoriented. But then the staff greeted us, carried in our bags, gave us tea, peanuts, and oranges, and set to taking care of our every need. They were this way with us from start to finish-sending us off with a bag of fresh mandarin oranges and hugs-and a promise to send an invoice for our remaining expenses-which we still have not gotten!
Apart from the wonder of just those details, the food was exquisite, our farmhouse room was stylish and simple yet so thoroughly Chinese-in the most real and unassuming way. It was an honor and a pleasure to sip tea in the farmhouse and look at the many woodcut posters and Chinese propaganda songs on the walls while staring up from the tea table to the simply elegant clay tile roof resting on the original beams, feeling the mud bricks breathe out their history silently under a soft rain and the early crows of the neighborhood roosters. I
If one is quiet and still, I believe this little gem will give up her secrets, her history, and the story and true feeling of old-time village life amongst the stunning splatters of karst and water. We enjoyed watching the staff use the traditional well to clean up around the property, and the garden did not disappoint. Truly magical and filled with bonsai that some local master has been enjoying for many years. The food was excellent. We spoke with some Chinese tourists on the way out who were very disappointed with the local version of beer fish, ah but ours was exquisite, along with the drinks and italian food. It's very rare to find this mix of culture, authenticity, generosity, and good service all wrapped into a package that does nearly guarantee the fulfillment of the motto the girls wear on their shirts, ”be inspired....”
I would recommend this to anyone. 谢谢你们!
GGuest UserBeautiful hotel with excellent position. The loud and crowded West-Street is only 50 meters distant, but you never hear any noise from there. The room was always clean and tidy with fresh towels every day. No wishes unfulfilled! The big roof terrace offers good chairs and phantastic view of the roofs of Yangshuo and of the surrounding landscape at day and night. It is also possible to dry washed clothes there. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff members. This hotel is highly recommendable!
GGuest UserWOW !! We were absolutely blown away by this amazing Hotel. We couldn't believe that everything looks just as good in real life as you see in the photos.
We booked the room which we believe looks the best and has the best view (located on the top floor) and were so happy we chose it.
Staying here was such an amazing and unique experience that we can't wait to stay here again for our next trip to China.
Here are the highlights of our time here:
1) As mentioned before, our suite has 100% the best views of any Hotel in Yangshuo. It really does have a 270 Degree view and you can also see the sky thanks to partial glass roof.
2) The whole area is very peaceful and quiet, perfect for a getaway from the busy life in the city
3) The Hotel's staff are very friendly and helpful, ready to assist you with any request at any hour. One of the best customer service experiences we ever had!
4) The entire building and our room was very well maintained and clean
5) There is also a lovely swimming pool which we did not have the chance to use but it looks very nice
6) The location is simply perfect for what we wanted. And considering how cheap the taxis are (less than 10 Yuan to get to the city centre) it's well worth staying here. You can also walk for about 20 minutes to get in the city.
7) Although it is not technically a full service hotel, we really appreciated all the services provided, especially the daily housekeeping when they replaced our towels, etc
8) The video projector is a nice touch, and so is the HUGE bathtub which can probably fit 4 adults
9) As Westerners we also really appreciated the electronic / japanese-style toilet with automated flushing and all the functions
10) The air conditioner is surprisingly powerful and can easily keep up with very hot weather even if you open all the curtains
Things worth noting:
1) The mattress was a bit firm for us and the pillows a bit too thin for our liking
2) The projector is set up for Chinese users and, unless you cast from your phone or mirror the screen, you won't have much luck
3) The bathtub would have been even better if it were jetted (like a jacuzzi), but this is not really an issue
Overall this is certainly one of the best hotels you can choose in Yangshuo and we can 100% recommend staying here.
GGuest UserThe location of the homestay is ideal, it is convenient to eat and go shopping, you can blow the hair by the Li River in your free time, the landlord boss is warm and hospitable, the service is thoughtful, the scenery upstairs in the room is very good, and the beds are clean and tidy.
