Hotels near Wanfoge Temple, Wutai

This is the first complaint I have ever made to a hotel, and I hate doing it, but I just spent almost a thousand dollars for two nights at a hotel that was not worth it. We had expectations that at least the basic features of a Marriott Hotel would be met (pool, soft beds, aircon, western breakfast), especially at the astronomical cost we paid per room (a total of $923 for two rooms, two nights!). We never pay this much for a room, but that’s how desperate we were for a vacation – we had planned to stay in a Marriott in Sanya where we’ve had a good experience, but COVID and visa renewal delays prevented us from leaving our province. We literally went to Wutaishan for the Marriott - not for the mountain. Since my space is limited here, I hope it will suffice to say that our weary family had to spend the weekend working hard to enjoy our short vacation, rather than having the highly anticipated respite from the stressors of living in this nation during a very stressful time. No pool (closed because of COVID though no other hotel in our province has done this for a long time - our confirmation email and the website didn’t even mention the pool closure and we didn’t find out until we had unexpectedly had to pay an additional $100 to enter the park before getting to the hotel), no cool air con (hotel said cool air not necessary, but with the warmer than normal temps it was - and it was after May holiday, so it should been able to turn on cool), no screens on windows so we couldn’t open windows without bugs, beds harder than usual, rooms not together and then when moved, we were given lower floors and not the better view (which I thought I had chosen to pay for), and the fridge in the room wasn't cold. Swimming and hanging out in the comfy hotel with the great view were the only things we’d really planned on for the weekend. Neither of which happened. We are so completely disappointed and are wishing that for that experience we had just stayed in one of the smaller, cheaper Chinese hotels that we would have been prepared for a less than ideal experience. I can say the breakfast was good and we were glad they brought us ice whenever we asked. The staff was nice, but there were limits to what they could change in this whole thing. The one thing that redeemed this a little for my kids was when we drove up the mountain and there were silver foxes all over the place.

The room is very clean, the toiletries are very high-end, there is a smart toilet, and you can watch movies on the projection screen. The hotel service is very good and enthusiastic, and they give a lot of practical suggestions. The environment is warm and quiet. You can see the top of Nantai from the window. It is in the scenic area and very close to Zhenhai Temple. The bus in the scenic area runs every ten minutes, which is convenient to go everywhere. I highly recommend it to everyone and will stay here next time.

I also read the comments of other customers and came to this homestay. I never drove for five hours in a row. Before I came, I was a little nervous. As a girl, I always felt that I needed some courage to drive to Wutai Mountain alone. I called the store to learn some situations. Buoying confidence all the way. Life is to constantly challenge, success once a big step forward. It is impulsive and fate to come to Wutai Mountain. It is accidental and inevitable to live in this homestay. The service is really good. The boss is also very talkative. After chatting, it feels suddenly cheerful.

The hotel is in the core scenic commercial street, the location is excellent, there is no need to worry about there is no place to eat nearby, the bus stop sign in front of it, and it is convenient to travel. The house is equipped with high-end decoration, solid wood furniture, smart home icing on the cake, disposable supplies, and subtle to disposable toilet pads. The hot water description is real all day, and the water pressure is very high, independent wifi and oversized TV, making the exquisite room and home comfortable. The other point is that the mattress is very comfortable, there are two kinds of pillows, buckwheat skin and feather cotton, the subtleties, all show the ingenuity of operation. Finally, it is the hotel's service, warm reception, and arrangement of the Buddha route, Jushi is busy, take us to worship Buddha for a long time, of course, in the store also consumed tributes, very reliable, trustworthy good hotel. In short, compared with pig liver red color matching, selling location hotels, and even four-star hotels in scenic spots, no matter the hardware and services, they are all better than each other. The only drawback is not on the street, but the price is relatively friendly. In Wutai Mountain, these are understandable. I will come over when I have time, worship Master Wu, and gather with my boss friends.

The first time I came to Wutai Mountain, my friend told me that this home in the scenic area is good. I placed an order. It's really okay because it's newly opened. It's also very comfortable. The waiter here is also good.

The boss is very enthusiastic. Seeing the three of us, he upgraded the room for free, gave us an extra breakfast, and helped prepare an extra set of clean bedding. As a hotel near the scenic area, it is very cost-effective. I will choose this place again when I go to Wutai Mountain!

We stayed at the Paradise Hotel when we came to Mount Wutai. The hotel was very good and they even picked us up by car. It was near Baohua Temple and very convenient to the core scenic spots. The room was of high quality and very comfortable.
