Really lovely and friendly village pub! The food is amazing and will definitely be coming back! The cost of the food was really affordable and was actually surprised by the value for money. The pub offer rooms and they look great so will recommend to friends/family to stay here if they come visit as I am fairly local to the area.

Photos attached of room 4. This was £90 for 1 night. The pillows and sheets had what looked like blood on them. The curtains were stained, the walls had holes in, the cabinets and floors were dirty. The bathroom was mouldy, the shower door had come off and been replaced with a curtain, the shower was mouldy. The lock didn't work. Went into the restaurant, lots of flies and stepped on part of the tiled floor which cracked. One of the worst rooms I have ever booked, lucky we only booked here for one night. We had to sleep on the bed in our clothes with old jumpers over the pillows. Went to tell them the lock didn't work, John the chef said he had been told but hadn't got around to it. When asked if we were enjoying our stay I said no, the lady asked for feedback while trying to show us how to jiggle the door to lock it, then walked off before I could show her anything. There were no other rooms as we were asked why we had been put in a X2 double room when we checked in and there were no other rooms anywhere in the area. We were concerned they may just kick us out if we brought it up at the time and there was no other place to stay. I informed them after with these photos on our way out the next morning, they wanted time to investigate. I messaged them 4 days later to ask if they had had enough time to look into it and was told the room is usually £65 a night and they are a budget hotel. They offered me half price stay another time. I declined and asked for half my money back. They said they couldn't do this because they only make £15 per room and offered me £30 so THEY were able to cover their costs. I was unhappy with this, unfortunately it's not my fault they only make £15 per room so I asked for a full refund. They offered £40 for me to not write a review which I declined.

What a find! Searched for a place to stay for 4 couples so we could attend a friend's 25th anniversary! And what a pleasure it was, the staff couldn't have looked after us any better. We missed the roast as we were going to a party, but it looked and smelled so delicious that we have all voted to come back and stay again to sample the culinary delights. Breakfast was great! We will be back. Thank you 😊

5* food absolutely gorgeous and lovely staff. We stopped in for lunch on the Saturday and was amazed by the hospitality and food. Consequently we were back with the family for the Sunday roast and again amazing food, love that you can see the kitchen and food being prepared, the chefs are great and also talk to the customers. Lucy served us both days and what a lovely welcome and service. DEFINITELY our new place to go, it’s a hidden gem. Thanks to a great team for a great visit. Keep it up! We have recommend you to anyone in the area.

The food here is absolutely amazing and staff are so friendly and welcoming. We been a few times now are are always made welcome. This time we stayed in the Horsebox for a birthday treat. The hot tub was a lovely touch and great location for some rest and relaxation. Breakfasts were 1st class as was the roast dinners. 10/10. Will be going again soon. Perfect hideaway if you need to get away from it all and relax. Barry and Amanda
