The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. There were snails on the walls and spiders in the corners. I spent the night holding in the toilet as I couldn’t bring myself to get up and use them again. When I went to try have a shower in the morning the shower head was lying on the floor in a pile of dirt and grass, so I had to leave for my 4 hour drive ahead unshowered. Everyone who is leaving reviews saying the facilities are clean must have a very different idea of clean than me, I can promise they were disgusting. I only wish I got photos but I spent an accumulative 30 seconds in the dirty toilets over my nights stay. To call this glamping is a massive stretch, it’s sleeping in a shed with a heater. Wouldn’t have paid a tenth of the price I did if I realised how appalling it would be when I arrived. The price I paid isn’t far off what a hotel in the city centre would have been, it’s ridiculous. Don’t. Stay. Here.

Just stayed here Thurs-Saturday. Fantastic little place, defiantly lives to it's name, really peaceful away from traffic very pretty and 10 minute bus ride into the centre of York #40, taxi fare around £12.50. Pod very nice and the bed was one of the comfiest I've ever stayed in. 1 min walk round to the toilet/shower block. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again in a heartbeat

Just left this little gem, really could not fault it. Everything you need right there even a bottle opener near the pod door. Very tranquil all the amentities you need and York centre only 4 miles away with a local taxi firm or nearby bus stop to take you in. The pods are spacious clean beds so so comfy we wish we had booked a week just for the great nights sleep. Barbeque facilities if you need to borrow and a little room with a fridge microwave etc if needed. Everything at your fingertips left feeling refreshed content and fulfilled with our stay , it really is the perfect little get away bless you little hide xx

No customer service or help whatsoever. Showers/toilets were filthy. Power went out, called a few times and still haven’t received any call back since. Was luckily able to fix it with the trip box. Woman on the phone when booking was rude and unprofessional wouldn’t go again. Room was nice though.

Went here for a birthday get together. We booked all the pods and the yurt. All pods and yurt and cabin was fab. We has a great 2 nights. Easy to get into York. Toilet and showers where clean. We used the cafe for breakfast and it was a nice meal. Good value for what you got. Will I come back YES ....

I booked to go here for mine and my partner’s 5th year anniversary, we arrived here at 3pm as it stated check in was (after) 3pm they told us they’d send us an email on how to check into our glamping pod, 3 hours past whiles we was sat in the car on their site and no email was sent we tried to call them numerous times and they didn’t answer the phone we tried messaging them and emailing them and still nothing! At this point 4 hours had past since we was due to check in and still heard nothing so we had to book into a hotel for the night as we traveled 4 hours for this, it’s now Monday and still heard nothing from them not even an apology which is very poor and unprofessional after the inconvenience and stress they put me and my partner through on the day of our anniversary! It’s disgusting! Just wanted to say thank you to Agoda for issuing us a full refund on their behalf and also a 10% commission fee.

The location was lovely, being very close to York and the surrounding areas, and the pod was a good size and clean. The reason for the drop in marks is more to do with the “upgrade” and general items in the location. 1) I upgraded from a standard pod to a “posh pod”, being told that the furnishings and items (like tables) were different and “better”. In reality, there was no difference between the posh pod and standard. If anything, the furnishings in our pod were actually at a lower standard than the other pods. 2) The featured additions - tables, bbqs, chairs, etc are all very dated and used - most of the metals are badly rusted and the sofa in our room was particularly garish. 3) No urgency with customer service. My initial call to upgrade to the property was ok, though the lady didn’t see all too “upbeat” - fair enough, may have been busy/having a bad day! But I’ve had no response to my email, about the “upgrade” and being disappointed with it, a day and a half later. All in all, the location and site is good in a pinch - but I’d recommend saving £20 a night and just opt for a standard unit. It’s almost like you’re paying less to have a dog than if you do, rather than for better furnishings. Note: The photos with red sofa and rusted metal tables are our “posh pod” - all others are the standard pods.

My girlfriend booked this for me as a surprise for my birthday and it was brilliant. On arrival there was no one at reception but a sign was in place explaining get your key code from the notice board to access your pod which I liked it felt like abit of a mystery walking into the unknown. There was plenty of bbq’s provided around the site free to use, and a big fire pit to sit around. The pods where really clean and had everything you need beds where really comfy and a nice thick quilt and lots of pillows . The shared fridge shack had everything you needed bbq utensils a wood locker if you wanted to have a fire, toaster, microwave and hairdryer. The showers and toilets around the corner from the pods where always clean every time I used them. The cafe on site was lovely. And even though the site was not maned by anyone there was signs everywhere you looked explaining rules and how to use things and numbers to phone if you needed help. I had a great stay and would deffo stay again. Thank you for a lovey break away at a affordable price
