The location was lovely, being very close to York and the surrounding areas, and the pod was a good size and clean. The reason for the drop in marks is more to do with the “upgrade” and general items in the location. 1) I upgraded from a standard pod to a “posh pod”, being told that the furnishings and items (like tables) were different and “better”. In reality, there was no difference between the posh pod and standard. If anything, the furnishings in our pod were actually at a lower standard than the other pods. 2) The featured additions - tables, bbqs, chairs, etc are all very dated and used - most of the metals are badly rusted and the sofa in our room was particularly garish. 3) No urgency with customer service. My initial call to upgrade to the property was ok, though the lady didn’t see all too “upbeat” - fair enough, may have been busy/having a bad day! But I’ve had no response to my email, about the “upgrade” and being disappointed with it, a day and a half later. All in all, the location and site is good in a pinch - but I’d recommend saving £20 a night and just opt for a standard unit. It’s almost like you’re paying less to have a dog than if you do, rather than for better furnishings. Note: The photos with red sofa and rusted metal tables are our “posh pod” - all others are the standard pods.
