As a group of 8 people in our late sixties and seventies we had to carry our 20kg luggage up the stairs because the lift is not working. In the restaurant we had the waiter Denise, one of the rudest waiter I’ve ever met. Although there might have been a language gap, she sighed and rolled her eyes at everything we asked for. As a party of 8 people with every course ordered she forgot one and only brought 7 of the eight meals. Not a pleasant experience at all.

Quiet location and very friendly staff but the rooms are like broom closets, and the bed was small and rather uncomfortable. Breakfast about Portuguese average (so not very good); it is not a buffet, so there's only what you get on a plate. Not much when you have a camino stage in front of you.

It started with an unfriendly receptionist. Then we had a very small room with a small bed and it was difficult to move around and find space for our suitcases. The toilet was smelly and we had lumpy pillows. Mosquitoes in room kept us awake at night and one bedside light was not working. The bathroom only had a glasdoor, not so good for privacy. The breakfast waiter was very involved and helpful, but the selection was limited.

The gentleman checking us in was rude and it seemed to be a bother that we were checking in. The walls were so thin you could hear full conversations from all the rooms all through the night. The morning staff was pleasant but the breakfast not worth it.

The hotel staff were so friendly and accommodating. It was raining so they provided an umbrella, for instance. The gentleman who kept eye on the breakfast room absolutely took care of us providing everything we needed not only for that meal but for meals that day on our journey cycling the Camino. So appreciated!!

Stayed here as part of a group a few days ago. The odious man on reception at check in was rude, obnoxious and not one bit helpful. He threw our room key at us, told us to not make any noise and that he was not interested in any complaints we may have. The bathroom has a glass door which means zero privacy. Every noise from surrounding rooms can be heard. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT STAY HERE.

The hotel was perfectly placed in the historic district. Our room had several beams that intersected the bed area that we kept hitting our heads on. They are painted the same color as the walls. When we checked out my husband made a passing comment to the host about the beams and that maybe they would want to put a color difference on the beams to distinguish them from the wall. A comment was all he did. The host grabbed his head and pretended to weep while shaking it. When my husband was fed up with his mocking he left and went to the garage where our car was parked. This individual then stood in front of our car mocking him again by grabbing his head and shaking it. He then proceeded to grab his crotch and stood by our car for several minutes doing this. A bit on the crazy side if you ask me. This seemed to ruin what we thought was a great visit to Viana

Very pleasant stay. Hotel staff are welcoming and helpful. Good buffet for breakfast. Room was a good size, simply furnished but OK. Room and bathroom very clean. Good location close to station and old town, on a side street so no noise - our room on the top floor with a balcony looking over the old town.

Small hotel, friendly staff- very limited amenities besides the bed and a chair. tiny tiny room. No coffee maker, kettle etc. Clean, quiet. Not much of a view, good enough for a passing traveller. No reason to stay there for more than one night or no reason to ever return there...

A good budget hotel. My room was small, clean and quiet. The location is perfect, a short walk from the bus/train stations and to the old town. A front desk staff spoke excellent English, and provided me with detailed information about my travel plans. Saved me a trip to the tourist office! The included breakfast was outstanding. Met many Camino walkers from all over the world. Apparently, this was one of their favorites as well.

The hotel is well located being a three minute walk from the train station and a few more mins from the bus station. Our room was a bit compact but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom a good size. We had a nice balcony with a view of the mountain. The hotel is also close to everything of interest in town. The breakfast area is a bit tight but the gentleman who runs it is awesome - works his butt off and is very friendly. Not a glamourous hotel but it was a good stay for the price.

I was walking Camino Portuguese Coastal route and was pre booked into this lovely boutique style hotel. The warm greeting at reception after a tough day walking was a joy and the guy very knowledgeable. Really good breakfast table. The room was well appointed, oh good size with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was really well fitted and spotlessly clean. The Hotel is in central Viana do Castelo so convenient for shops, restaurants, bars and it’s a short walk down to the waterside. Excellent value and no complaints.

Good location, car parking available. Short walk to shops, railway station etc. Rooms had a modern twist in that the decor was pure white, electric blinds and a balcony on the 3rd floor with seating. However the glass to the bathroom would be off putting to those who seek privacy. There was a small bar, pricey. This served as the breakfast room in the morning, however it is too small for all the guests. Usual breakfast of cereal, cold meats and ham were served at the table.

We stayed in their sister property which was fantastic, great people and great service. We also ate in their restaurant of the same name, also fantastic food, wine and great value. Totally recommend this place. The family run business are doing a great job, thanks for looking after us.

Very nice hotel just off the Camino route. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Highly recommended for any staying in the area.
