Valladolid Hotels with Pools

The room is located opposite the church, next to the small park in the city centre. The city is not big and it is very convenient to go everywhere. I took a taxi to cenote suytun about 8 km 60mxn, waiting for the round trip to receive me 150. It is also a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal. The hotel's restaurant is very good, you can choose a set of breakfast for your breakfast. I also eat here for dinner, the ink steak is doing well, but the cold is not good, the five mature super hard and hard to chew. The room is small and the bathroom is extraordinarily small. Facilities and equipment are a bit old. A new building in the yard is being repaired. But there are not many choices in valladolid.

We were so happy to find such a lovely hotel in Valladolid, that was super nice and modern, but was also beautifully combining the Yucatan traditions and symbols. First of all, the name of the hotel was also special and Waye means hotel de aqui. We have stayed in a lovely room at the first floor decorated in a boho Mayan vibe, that was really close to their rooftop pool. I loved spending time there and also in their front garden, surrounded by their gorgeous exotic plants and also by the super tropical bar. The hotel is located super close to the city center of Valladolid and you have by a walking distance el Parque Central and the Monastery of San Bernardino de Siena. There is a lovely pedestrian street, filled with colourful buildings, flowers and shops really close by, that is called Calzada de los Frailes. If you happen to be in the area and want to visit Merida, Chichen Itza and Tulum, this hotel is in the center of all these locations and you can have nice road trips planned in different locations and tourist attractions everyday. They also have a lovely restaurant called Mundo Maya where they serve breakfast in the morning, but you can also have lunch or dinner there. We’ve had some delicious typical Mexican eggs in the morning and decided to stay also for dinner that was also very good. I loved their guacamole and tacos. Save this destination on your wish list because it is so gorgeous and so worth it.

I can only say positive things about this wonderful boutique hotel. It’s very unassuming from the outside, but as soon as you enter the lobby, you can tell that they have dedicated a lot of time and effort into making something special. The decor, the tiles, the color choices, the openness and airiness of the spaces were all warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly. My room was large with 10 foot ceilings, the Wi-Fi was fast and the bed very comfortable. My shower was large and included an open space with live plants and a ceiling open to the outside (screened) so that when we had a rainstorm – and boy, did we have a thunderstorm! – the rain came down directly into the shower area. There is a lovely small pool, as well as little sitting areas and other decorative touches lining the hallways and stairwells, including one area with a hammock that I lay in during the thunderstorm. I only stayed for one night, but I sure wish I could’ve stayed longer.

It is a good hotel in this small city....

Our stay at Tecnohotel has been great thus far. They keep our room clean, it's safe, parking is the best (which is why we picked this hotel). It's not fancy but has all you need for a few days and very budget friendly. Note there is no fridge but that is fine cause their is a Restaurant on premises that opens at 7am where you can grab an coffee and breakfast before you explore for the day. We're here for 4 nights and our plans has been to explore the cenotes/ruins in the nearby area. Not so much experience the city thought it is cute and I love the food/vibe here. The restaurant Tecnohotel is great and much better than I expected for a hotel restaurant. Food is tasty and fresh, we've been going multiple times! My partner and I have been ordering club sandwiches that we share in the morning and it's more than enough food to go out and explore. They also give you complimentary toast with your food order. Our server, Marcelino, was attentive, efficient and overall just a great server. Has all the qualities you want. He spoke English too which was also super helpful. The restaurant also opens at 7am which is more than enough time to eat before all the exploration activities open, and you definitely want to eat before you go explore. We only have good things to say about Hotel Fundadores. Lovely, spacious, and clean rooms at reasonable prices. A charming courtyard with trees, lounge chairs, and a pool. Perfect location, less than a 10-minute walk from the town square, where the cathedral and many restaurants are located, and where buses to Chichen Itza come and go. Wi-Fi mostly works flawlessly, though the technology has a mind of its own from time to time. You'll need to find breakfast on your own in the city.

Hotel San Roque We left Hotel San Roque after one night, although we were booked for 5 nights. Our experience at Hotel San Roque was absolutely AWEFUL! Upon arrival, we were initially impressed with the property grounds. The concierge was very nice and helpful. However, those are the only positives I can express about San Roque. The room we were given first did not have running water. The air conditioning was poor and the ceiling fan was extremely noisy. Obviously the more pressing issue was a lack of running water for showers, toilet flushing and hand washing. 30 mins after informing staff of the water issues, they told us we could “use the shower in another room”. We requested to change rooms altogether and we’re met with apprehension. They reluctantly allowed us to switch rooms but stated it would be an additional charge. The room was a couple square feet larger, no additional amenities. Unless, of course, you consider running water an amenity. That night, we listened to the pounding music from a nearby club until 3:00am. It was so loud it rattled the windows. The next morning, we informed them we would be checking out due to the lack of running water in the first room and the extreme noise all night. They denied our request for a refund. About 10 minutes later, the concierge knocked on our door to offer an “upgrade to the suite.” By that time we had already had a horrible experience and were told we would not be compensated for the inconvenience but would, in fact, have to pay more to have a room with running water and efficient appliances. It was too little, too late. Now, let’s talk about the room. The bed did not come with a blanket, only a sheet. There was a laminated paper with strange rules, including no eating in your room. The toilet did not flush well due to lack of water pressure. We’ve stayed in many places throughout Mexico - Jalisco, Nayarit, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Guerrero - and this is the worst experience we’ve had in México. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. And always use a credit card for additional recourse, as Hotel San Roque will attempt to keep your money.
