Ashnil Aruba Lodge

We spent two nights at Ashnil Aruba Lodge. This was by far the busiest hotel we’ve stayed at which was a big difference to the quieter hotels we had come from. The staff were lovely and put in lots of effort for our friends birthday at dinner! The was a range of food options, however, it wasn’t very hot at both lunch and dinner times. They did however, have the nicest nan bread 10/10 The whole hotel was very hot, and although we had 2 fans on in the bedroom, this made for 2 nights of uncomfortable sleep.

Had a fantastic stay at this lodge in one of the tented lodges. Great food and set up for the safari experience. It was lovely watching the elephants from the hotel lounge. Overall would recommend this hotel as a stopover at the Tsavo East Park.

I actually don’t have the words to describe how awesome our experience was at Ashnil Aruba. We were travelling with our 18 month old son, and they could not have been more accommodating to ensure that safari with an infant was as easy as possible. The staff were unbelievably kind and hospitable, the hotel facilities were as you’d expect from a safari lodge - not the height of luxury but covered all of our needs, the food was DELICIOUS and did I mention the staff were amazing?! Special shout out to our driver guide Gideon who knew so much about all of the animals, and made us feel very safe in his capable hands, and to the lovely Diana and Gilbert who ensured our little guy was always looked after when it came to milk, tomato pasta and smiles! On top of all of this, the safari experience itself was absolutely amazing, and one of the highlights of any holiday I’ve been on. I honestly felt sad as we drove away - it felt like in our short stay, we made friends and memories for life.

Stayed here for the last two nights of our safari. We stayed in an upgraded room of a tent, was great , would say that the watering holes were not by the bars or rooms , unfortunately there was nowhere to sit and just observe the animals, ( could take a lesson from salt lick and Kilguna) don't get me wrong we had a great time but other lodges have it so you can sit and enjoy a drink and just observe.

We were disappointed here as the holiday was advertised to make you believe you were staying in a tented lodge but this was not the case so was upset that we were put in a standard room. It was clean and adequate but. It what we thought we had paid for. Food was nice and good choice. The staff friendly and helpful. No watering hole that was lit up or used much. Lots of lizards and monkeys. Had to buy drinks including water. Had a small pool and we were here for 2 nights. Hoping to see a cheetah or leopard but instead saw 2 rhino’s which was amazing and only less than 1% of seeing them. Truly blessed

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a a 3 lodge/5 night safari. Whilst not my favourite of the three lodges it was still outstanding. We had our favourite game drives from here. The lodge was excellent, the food was very good and the rooms very nice. We had a slight issue with some uninvited guests in our room one night but someone from reception came straight away and dealt with them. Having a bit of downtime here meant we could use the pool. It was surreal to be in the pool having Elephants walking by 15 feet away. Finally a mention about Joseph, the happiest man in Kenya, an absolute star.
