Nice, modern hotel, and we had a very nice updated room with lovely views of the ocean and the Fort. Pretty good breakfast too. Free parking so you can walk about 10 minutes to get to the heart of the old town for shopping and restaurants. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only very small thing we didn’t love was that to get to our room on the 3rd floor we had to walk by the open door of the gym - typical gym smells emanating so wish they would have left the door to the gym closed. Other than that, a great stay!

Relatively small rooms where it can be a challenge to put away your luggage if on a long stay. Rooms by the road are noisy. Airco doesn’t work and it gets hot and humid on Terceira. Nice roof top bar but a few parasols for shade wouldn’t hurt. Good restaurant with a very sharply price menu of the day. Good location in the very center of Angra. Taxi stop right in front of the hotel.

I was offered a 'quiet' room to the back as by receptions own admission front rooms were noisy due to cobblestone roads. The room was directly over aircon system, generating a constant hum even with windows closed. The bathroom is badly designed, with tight toilet situation. Despite rooms appearing available on booking websites, reception stated I could not move for first two nights. I was told I would be moved further along corridor. On my lateish return, I was then allocated a room to the street - even noisier than before. In addition, despite the manger originally claiming all bathroom designs were the same, this turned out to be inaccurate as the room I was moved to had a well-designed bathroom. Basically, I feel I was just messed around by reception, creating stress and spoiling the last days of the holiday and for the above reasons would not recommend.

The Shipyard was a wonderful hotel for a family Stay. The design was contemporary and lovely. We had 2 adults and 2 kids in our group and it was perfect as us parents had the room and the kids stayed on a comfortable sofa bed in the living room. The apartments were very well-equipped and spacious. I highly recommend this to a family looking for a place to stay in Terceira. The location was also lovely as it was close enough to the old part of the city and the port for all the water activities. Breakfast was lovely as well. They had a buffet for standard fare like fruit bread and other breakfast items, but you could order from a menu for eggs and coffee orders. Overall very complete solid breakfast offering. Added bonus was the covered underground parking.

This is quite the best hotel-adjacent experience the Azores has to offer, and you won't regret trying it. The individual cabins each offer an escape to the trees, and the sights and sounds of the forest are really something to wake up to. There are a few design quirks, most notably the lack of a bathroom door, but if you travel with a partner with sensitive ears there is always time to admire the view from the balcony. Breakfasts are faultless - seriously, you've never seen such a spread - and if you're getting up early to go whale-watching they'll deliver a pre-packed version to your treehouse fridge the night before. The staff know all there is to know about the island, and although you will certainly need a car (not too wide in the chassis, preferably) they can show you where to drive it for the best views. A daily dip in the salt-water pool seals the deal. Book it now before it becomes impossible to get a reservation!

This is how you can leave your car at the hotel and have the opportunity to try the Azorian wines. It was far from our best residence and breakfast of our 6 visiting islands (Sao Miguel,,Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Jorge, Pico and Faial). We would have liked to stay there for a day, but our planning for inland flights and boat connections was not allowed, because there are not all the days. flight and boat connections with all islands (after Terceira, Graciosa). The hotel is located just above the ocean. In between there is a 'walking track' along which you reach the center of Praia after about 10 steps, including the O pescador restaurant. It was by far our best stay and breakfast of our 6 islands visited (Sao miguel, Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Jorge, Pico and Faial). Very nice hotel, well-equipped with a beautiful pool and a clean garden. Taktic position because it is just a few steps from the center and the beach, with internal parking for the cars (if you come back late night you might find it full, but there is so much space in the street and the car is needed on these The staff is very friendly and willing to meet the client's demands. We were lucky for the apartment because we had a garden view, very quiet and at the first floor with balcony: spacious and clean (weather change possible even every day by wishing). Very recommended!

The hotel is right in front of the beach and harbour. It is clean and the staff are friendly. They will give you towels for the beach if you ask A room with a sea and harbour view is worth paying the extra for. Breakfast is nice but the same every day. You can catch the bus to other areas of the island, which is easy and only a few euros. Only 10 minutes from the airport. You can get the bus for a euro or taxi for 10 euros. Restaurants and bars are close by. Managed to find some vegetarian food but not much. The local wine is nice and low priced. Little fridge in the room for cold drinks but no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
