This is a rustic and quaint lodge cut out of the lush forest. Cabins are very clean and have insect screens in lieu of glass window panes. Makes total sense in the heat. The birds and howler monkeys provide wake up calls at dawn. The swimming pool is completely enclosed and well maintained. We loved all the new foods but they also serve regular for the less adventurous. We stayed 3 nights and staff guided us through the forest. We were thrilled with everything.

Disappointing and extremely poor value, especially compared to the Heliconia Lodge we stayed at in the jungle near Iquitos. It was like they were on a budget cost-cutting drive with the worst breakfast we had in our month in Peru - mainly bread and fruit and only powdered milk for the tea/coffee. When we were collected at the airport we were given 15 minutes to pack what we needed in to a duffel bag, which was a big surprise. In our haste, with limited space, some of us took the wrong clothing for the weather in July. We slept fully clothed at night as it was so cold and there are only insect screens between you and the outside of your bungalow. It is not really a three day package as most of Day 1 is getting there. Day 2 we had a long stroll through the pebble tracks on their property in the morning and a visit to an island where they feed the monkeys in the afternoon. On Day 3 they insist you all check out at 7am and then put you on the 2 hour boat trip back to Pto Maldonado, even if your flight is in the evening. Beware of when the guide puts red stripes on your face from a local berry. Once you have washed it off, if you get a tiny smear on the threadbare hand towel they charge you a US$15 "laundry charge". Basically a money-generating scam.

Great place to experience Amazon jungle. We saw some animals like monkeys, a deer sloths, cayman etc. but didnt see jaguar. Many beautiful birds. The guides were very knowledgeable and worked hard all around the place in kitchen and outside. Percy went out of his way to provide special meals for my vegetarian needs. I'll highly recommend this place. The walks through the jungle were very fulfilling. They are doing a great job.

I must give only 2 stars even if the Lodge is very beautiful: the lodge is by the river and surrounded by forest; the rooms are characteristics, comfortable and clean; the staff is kind and helpful; the food is generally decent, there is also a good pool and recreative stuffs but... Me, as most of the people, went there to see the forest and its fauna. EcoAmazonia holds a private area and the excursions are made only in this area. We did 4 excursions: 1 on Monkey Island: good but sad, we saw some monkeys, just because they feed them... the other 3 are similar, part of the path is the same, change the lenght. We did these 3 tour with 3 different guides and every time the told us the story of the same tree, the first time could be interesting, the third was very boring. In these tours we walked trought ant and mosquitos, the only animals that we have seen in 3 days.... The guides are basically good, also considering that they do the airport reception, waiters and luggage carriers. They always repeat the same 3 notions without great passion but with sympathy. In conclusion: If your point is eat, drink and relax in a quite and charming place, EcoAmazonia should be your choice. If you want to see some tropical animal, mammals or colorful birds, please go away.

We had a wonderful week at Eco Amazonia, a perfect spot to relax after our five-day hike around Cusco. The bungalow we stayed in was clean and comfortable, with plenty of hot water, electricity, and even internet in the lobby. Our guide, Eduardo, was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts about the area's plants and animals. The food was tasty, and we could refill our water bottles for free anytime with fresh, clean water. The lodge also had a beautiful area and a swimming pool. The staff was friendly and always ready to help. Highly recommended for a relaxing jungle getaway!

We discovered that booking the lodges near Puerto Maldonado is a free-for-all, especially when dealing with travel agents in Cusco. You will hear many exaggerations and lies from the third parties, so do some research. Luckily we discovered Eco Amazonia. They have an office in Cusco and HQ in Puerto Maldonado, as well as the lodge itself. The lodge owns a large area of land which includes dense jungle with paths, swamps, lakes, grottos, bridges, observation tower and monkey Island. No other lodges tour this area, just Eco Amazonia. This meant that you would not see other tourists outside the group during the tours. It is by far the most organised, professional and attractive lodge in the Los Madres de Dios River. Highly, highly recommended. Eduardo and his staff are extremely helpful and provide excellent guidance. All typical activities (trekking through jungle, piranha fishing, night boat tours, cayman and wildlife spotting, observation tower, swamp boat trips, bridge walking etc) can be arranged directly with Amazonia Eco Lodge, via one of their standard packages. All very well organised. No need to go through a third party. Very reasonable cost (we ended up paying approx. 250 dollars per person for 3 nights/2 days). Kids 10 years old and under get 40% off. Additionally, they include airport pickup and drop off, travel to and from the lodge (they have their own boats) and actively monitor flight times to adjust your travels. So easy. We were very well informed throughout with respect to meal and your times. Thanks to Oswaldo for the transportation and setup prior to arriving at the lodge Food is of high quality, with mixture of set meals and buffets. ALL meals are included. The cabins are clean, with mosquito nets on all open sides, we slept very comfortably with no insect annoyances. There is no air conditioning unfortunately (it is an eco lodge after all) but fans are provided in all cabins which are sufficient for a good night's sleep. Showers and bathrooms are also just fine, with hot water provided. Electricity all the time as they have a solar panel installation. Everyone is assigned a guide for the duration. The guides (Julio for us throughout) are extremely knowledgeable about the routes, wildlife, flora and local culture. Many many thanks Julio. The clubhouse includes the eating area, bar area, seating areas, pool table, fusball table and wifi at set times. Bandwidth is pretty good. The clubhouse is also mosquito free as there is mosquito netting around the whole building. The lodge also included a night boat tour which is for wildlife spotting as well as star gazing. Very cool. I have not experienced silence like that in a long time. An extra nice touch was were the animals running around, as it also doubles as a 'sanctuary' of sorts. So a monkey, parrot and different birds roaming around which you can interact with. Jenny the monkey kept grabbing my hand to take me to the hammock area to play, very cute. The lodge also own

This lodge gave me one of the most memorable moments of my life! Their commitment to protecting the rainforest and its wildlife showed throughout the experience as they took us out into the protected jungle, stopping at certain points to teach us about the rainforest and how to protect it. Our tour guide, Nixon, was amazing!! He taught us so much and made the trek through the jungle an incredible experience. He made us forget about the heat and the bugs and made every moment an adventure. He was such a good guide it made us want to come back and we are already planning a trip back to Puerto Maldonado! if you want to explore the Amazon in a safe and respectful way book with Eco Amazonia. You will be supporting sustainable travel that gives back to the jungle and its people. 10/10 experience.

I spent 3 Days in the Lodge and they brought me with the other guests out for 4 guided tours trough the Jungle, the monkey iland and on the river. The weather was perfect even if it was the rainy season and the team was doing an extraordinary job by showing us everything they got in the area.

I have stayed at this lodge three times in the past four years. It has a rustic look but is extremely pleasant in creature comforts. It is well maintained. The staff is very attentive. The spacious cabins have a large overhead fan that moves the air well, providing good circulation. Each cabin has a screened porch excellent for morning coffee or evening reading. The dining room serves breakfast and lunch buffet style, and dinner is a Peruvian dish featuring either chicken or beef. They have a full-service bar open in the evenings, with very reasonable drink prices. The guided tours are well done, with varying lengths. The tour of Monkey Island is memorable and a great photo opportunity to take pictures of native monkeys stealing bananas out of your hand or swiping off the top of your hat. After a long hike in the rainforest, the lodge's sizeable screened-in pool is refreshing.

We spent 3 days at the EcoAmazonia Lodge in the rainforest. We had an amazing experience at the lodge with David leading us on the adventurous tours and Eduardo taking great care of us at the lodge along with his caring staff. Being vegetarian we were concerned about our food options but were pleasantly surprised by the delicious meals that were meticulously prepared and cheerfully served. On the tours we saw a lot of animals like caimans, anacondas, 3-4 species of monkeys, macaws and agutis (small capybaras). David is extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the flora and fauna in the rainforest from him. He is also extremely personable and kind and guided us through the adventure in an engaging manner. We were two families with 3 kids of ages 12-16.

We did the 4 days/3 nights EcoAdventure package and we loved every minute! Coming in the off-season of October meant that we mostly had private tours and at most two other people in our groups for the excursions. David was our guide most of the time and he is the BEST. His knowledge of the flora/fauna of the area was so impressive and we wouldn't go more than 10 steps without him identifying something new for us to look at. We saw parrots, monkeys, caimans, and even got to fish for piranhas! His enthusiasm for tourism as a whole will make you feel so welcomed to the Peruvian Amazon and make you never want to leave. Also need to give a shout out to Juan Carlos who went the extra mile and really tried to spot a jaguar for us. No luck with the jaguar, unfortunately, but he did show us how to make fans out of palm leaves, which were life saving in the crushing 105F (41C) heat and 100% humidity. As for the lodge itself, our room was very comfortable. There is nothing more peaceful than falling asleep to the sound of the jungle insects and then waking up in the morning to the birds and howler monkeys. There is hot water for the showers, but trust me, you'll only touch the cold tap for relief from the heat. The food was incredible - breakfast was a buffet style while lunch and dinner were three courses each. And there was nothing better than getting back from an excursion dripping with sweat and ordering a frozen fruit cocktail from the bar! My favorite part was when they surprised us with a nighttime cruise to look for nocturnal animals. At the end, they turned off the flashlight and we just gazed up at all the stars and the milky way as we quietly floated back to the lodge. Just magical.

Ecoamazonia is a dream. My partner and I researched several lodges and we are so happy to have picked Ecoamazonia. From the time we landed from the airport to the time we were dropped off to leave we felt completely taken care of! The entire staff at the lodge are attentive, hardworking, and so quick to help. The grounds are beautiful and maintained. You are pretty deep into the jungle and there is nothing like falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of birds and other animals. Truly a dream! Our tour guide was David and we feel so lucky to have met and learned from him. David has a real passion, love, and respect for the jungle. He showed us many animals, birds, insects, trees, plants, etc! Visiting Ecoamazonia and meeting David was one of the highlights of our entire vacation in Peru! I cannot recommend this place enough if you're looking for the true jungle experience!

We had the most incredible time at Eco Amazonia on the 4 night / 5 day program. The facilities were excellent, rooms spacious and comfortable and food delicious. The program was diverse and well thought out, with trekking, boat trips, bird watching, animal spotting and even a visit to a local family. We had David as our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic - his knowledge about the Amazonian flora and fauna was incredible (as well as his ability to find and identify wildlife for us to see) and his enthusiasm and genuine passion for the rainforest was infectious. We enjoyed our time with David so much and cannot thank him and Eco Amazonia more for an unforgettable 5 days.
