We stayed one night at Morning Hotel. The hotel style reminds me of a Thai Holiday Inn Express, looking so new and super clean and with a similar layout and look. Our room was spartan but decor was really nice with wood look floor and a nice floor lamp to add coziness. The shelving arrangement affords lots of storage space for luggage and to arrange your clothes. Fridge with free water There is no safe. The bed is quite firm and only afterwards did I see another reviewer mentions that staff provided a comforter to make the bed softer. No hot water making in the room, however there is a kitchen for the guests to use downstairs with complimentary tea, coffee, toast, and a micro wave. The owner’s daughter was very kind and helpful to us. She gave us 2 great restaurant recommendations that we loved and are within 1km of the hotel. Currently both these restaurants are not listed on TripAdvisor, but the are clearly popular with locals - thus hidden gems and we did not see foreigners at these restaurants which added to the experience! Lunch - Phan Thai Jai Yen Yen Very famous restaurant chef in the area. Many foreign chefs visit his restaurant - Only open till 16:00hrs so best for lunch Dinner - Krua Nong Michelin award restaurant famous for soft shell crab - Open till around 21:00 or so

The room is very spacious and has a sofa to sleep in. The only disadvantage is that the shower water flows little and the sewer pipe is clogged. Overall ok according to the price.

First of all, I must say that Search name Pup Will find this hostel first. We hurried to do business in Takua Pa My friend suggested that I used to stay well, but I have to choose. Accidentally we got the last room. Therefore there is no right to choose. Arrived, shocked, the room is very small Moreover, the floor is dirty, we take wet tissue to rub the black floor. The water heater is broken. You have to press the device firmly to get on fire. When I showered, I was afraid that the fire would suck again, so I hurried to take a shower and sleep. There is no sink, pipe below. He brought a water bucket to support. Turn on the water where the water flows into the bucket. I'm tired. Arrived when I was sleeping, trying to endure sleep. He really couldn't sleep, rashes up the body. I couldn't get itchy all. So hurried to move to another place. New place like heaven, please. Very clean, the price is only 899 baht, here 550 baht is really not suitable for this price.

It was only for one night, but it's OK. I miss a pool for longer stay. The reception was no longer occupied than we arrived there at 20:30, the room keys were on the reception venue and on a sign, unfortunately only in Thai, to call the telephone number. Fortunately, my wife is Thai and could quickly clear everything with the lady on the phone and we knew what our room key is. The bed might need a new mattress, but it was ok. All in everything for one night okay.

I booked a regular room for 1,400 RMB a night on Ctrip.
FOOD:
The food was really unpalatable. I ordered three dishes in the picture and took a bite of each one. The taste was wrong and it was very unpalatable! The free bread basket was thought to be moldy. Papaya salad, whoever eats it will be disappointed.
Checked in and waited 25 minutes. There is no service at all.
There were not many guests on the day I checked in. I saw on Ctrip that there were rooms with sea views. I asked the front desk if I could upgrade the room? Answer: No.
There was a very damp musty smell upon entering the room.
When I checked in, I found that the light in the room was broken. People from the engineering department repaired it for 20 minutes while I was present.
Why book this hotel? Because it is very close to the pier to Similan, it takes 40 minutes to drive.
If I go to Similan Island next time, I will definitely not stay in this hotel.

The beach outside the hotel is soft and long, and the sunset every day is so beautiful. In addition, the swimming pool and the thoughtful breakfast that can be ordered all day are also plus points. In addition, it was Songkran Festival, and the hotel warmly invited guests to participate in their celebrations, allowing us to spend an unforgettable festival together. Thank you very much. GGuest UserWe spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

The breakfast here was so good with many choices and also testy, the staff very attentive and provided excellent service especially ladies who clear up our table. Special thank to front team and appreciated with very kind for upgrading our room, and surprise birthday cake with beautiful bed decoration which made our stay very very special. Over all very impressive, Look forward to staying for the 4th and next, next, next time!!!

GgvdimaBrand new. Many IKEA quality stuff. Daikin A/C - people sitting on the upper bed might not like its vicinity. Close to the beach and restaurants. Excellent staff, true Thai hospitality. First hostel with no guarantee for the key. First hostel in 35 days in Thai to give e a proper wai. EXcellent English. Nice kitchen, biscuits coffee and tea and water through the day. Access to shower after check out. Etc As a suggestion to make it even better: It is more about personal preferences - lack of curtains to the beds mainly. Some people complained about the music from a neighboring bar. To me it was not too loud.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak and overall, it was a delightful experience. Here are the pros and cons of my stay:
Pros:
1) Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is located in a prime spot, just a short distance away from the main tourist area. This allows for a peaceful and tranquil stay while still being conveniently close to all the attractions.
2) The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique establishment, with a charming ambiance. From the moment you step into the entrance lobby, you are greeted with antique decorations that add a touch of elegance to the surroundings.
3) One of the highlights of this hotel is the Michelin 2022 and 2023 chef who prepares authentic Nonya cuisines. This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied.
4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors.
5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note.
6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings.
7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and are always ready to assist with any queries or requests.
Cons:
1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests.
2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms.

In conclusion, Hotel Gahn Khao Lak offers a memorable stay with its good location, beautiful ambiance, authentic cuisine, and friendly staff. GGuest UserWonderfully peaceful and laid back hotel. The staff are wonderful each and everyone we met. They truly cannot do enough to make your holiday special. We had a Grande Deluxe room on the top floor overlooking the swim up pool. It was perfect! The bed was huge as was the bath. Bottled water was replenished every day. The room was also cleaned spotlessly daily. Breakfast was a choice of fruits/yoghurts, eggs/bacon/tomatoes or Thai stir fry. Something for everyone! Bars are dotted around the entire resort. Obviously they charge hotel prices but they all have their own happy hour (actually it’s 2hrs!!). Time it right and a bottle of beer is 70baht and cocktails 130baht. It’s a 10 minute walk into Khao Lak and the start of a 1.5km ***** of shops and restaurants. Alternatively there will always be taxis waiting outside the hotel entrance. You can get these for 100Baht (£2.20). It’s 200Baht if you fancy a trip to the market which is a couple of km further. We left early at 5am and were provided with a breakfast box to take with us which was a nice touch. Overall we loved this hotel and will definitely return. Kha Lak is the perfect place to visit and Moracea is the perfect hotel to base yourselves. Thank you for making our holiday special.

GGuest UserWe upgraded from 2 suites from a package TUI booking pool villa 838 costing about 42K THB for 14 nights in November and December 2022. 2 adults, and 2 kids age 17 and 10 so the privacy of a private pool was one of our highlights of the holiday. This is such a peaceful resort with beautiful surroundings and very helpful staff. Notably Emme, Gift, Mark, Tee, Big, Yuda, Tar, Pecky and Winai. This resort is not within walking distance of town / Biang Nang market area, and a taxi to go there will set you back 300 THB each way from the guys on the beach outside the gate. That's the going rate both ways so don't be conned by a chancer. In the resort there's 2 restaurants, one's a buffet and the Napalai on the villa side of the river and you can eat from both if you upgrade. There are 2 swimming pools, several bars and organised trips to temples, islands, local markets, animal sanctuaries offered from the front desk or holiday rep so you aren't cut off from civilisation by being in such a remote area surrounded by beach and jungle, which is actually a plus point if you're a surfer, nature or beach lover because this resort scores a 10 if that's what interests you. We didn't travel to Thailand for the nightlife, just to chill in some winter sun. There's ample entertainment just 10 minutes away from the resort, in town or Memories bar, but if you want boom, boom, boom and all night drinking go to Phuket instead. I'd definitely return, but not with children.

MMilleThe hotel is old and needs renovation. However I somehow forgot because the staff was wonderful. They tried their very best to accommodate for requests and was helpful regardless what we asked.
The first night was a bit rough as the rooms smelled mouldy. I requested for a clean of the air-conditioner in both rooms and it helped a lot.
Should this have been done prior to our arrival? Absolutely! But at least they are responsive and try their very best to give you a great holiday.

MMaikThe restaurant staff are nice but the management is poor. We celebrated our New Year in the Hotel with boring experience because of poor preparations from the management. Poor coordination between the guests and front desk staff. The resort is not well maintained. We won’t go back here again in the future not unless they will change.
