Disappointed by this large and impersonal hotel. The room allocated to us was dark and overlooked a wall with a huge antenna nearby. It took 10 minutes of discussion to get a room with a better view. Was so impressed with this hotel 5 years ago that we returned again in October 2023 and they gave us the same room we occupied before. This was a water pool access room which is a must if you stay here. The rooms are large with a massive bed and has all the facilities you could wish for. Although we did no eat our main meals in the Italian restaurant we had breakfast which covers all variety of foods and freshly cooked eggs and bacon on request. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. A particular mention to Tounchai the barman who served us daily at the pool bar during Happy hour with delicious cocktails. Also to the maid (sorry can't remember her name) who cleaned our room 1123 and left wonderful creations on our bed. The hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to many bars and restaurants. Bang Niang Market which is 2 mins walk is open every Mon, Weds, Thur and Sat which does street food and has many stalls. The Waters is highly recommended.

This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors. 5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note. 6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings. 7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Cons: 1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests. 2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms. Rating: 8.5/10 In conclusion, Hotel Gahn Khao Lak offers a memorable stay with its good location, beautiful ambiance, authentic cuisine, and friendly staff. While there are a few areas that could be improved upon, the overall experience is highly enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and charming getaway in Khao Lak.

The room is very spacious. I like a lot of glass. The zones are clearly separated, with every zone separated by a gate if you want to separate them. But if it's not closed, it will penetrate every room. The facilities are very complete. I recommend a good stay.

Was booked as a birthday treat. If you like organised activities and timetables then it's for you. On arrival they asked for passports, out to the car to get, then voucher, out to the car to get, then a copy of my credit card. Really was not happy with that and thought it unnecessary as they had details from booking as the room was paid for,it made me very uncomfortable. The main swimming pool was large but had only one place to get in so was a long walk. We ate outside the hotel at one of the many less expensive restaurants. Our view from our room in block 13 overlooked a dilapidated roof of the Thai themed restaurant, didn't compel us to eat there. The room itself was comfortable and clean and we loved the dressing gown, it's our thing. WiFi around the resort was good. Sunset memorable. A great place for families that like a package holiday. Not for us.

Great location 2 hours north of Phuket. Was away from the crowded hustle and bustle of Phuket. Awesome swimming pool. 2 restaurant options. Backs on to beach and several other resorts nearby. Plenty of beach bars. Staff were fantastic and could not do enough for us. Thai people are so friendly. Be prepared for plenty of walking if your accommodation is at the front of the resort - 800m walk to the main swimming pool and Green Mango Restaurant and beach at the rear of the resort. Would go again. Ideal for families or couples alike.

I booked a regular room for 1,400 RMB a night on Ctrip. FOOD: The food was really unpalatable. I ordered three dishes in the picture and took a bite of each one. There is no service at all. There were not many guests on the day I checked in. I saw on Ctrip that there were rooms with sea views. I asked the front desk if I could upgrade the room? Answer: No. There was a very damp musty smell upon entering the room. When I checked in, I found that the light in the room was broken. People from the engineering department repaired it for 20 minutes while I was present. Why book this hotel? Because it is very close to the pier to Similan, it takes 40 minutes to drive. If I go to Similan Island next time, I will definitely not stay in this hotel.
