I wonder if they are targeting first-time customers who are deceived by the posted photos. With this quality, 30,000 per person is questionable. The best is 12,000 yen. The good points All the young staff were pleasant and likable. Towels will be replaced with new ones. The water pressure in the shower was good. I think they are putting a lot of effort into infection control. that's all.

I had a friend who was clean because the toilet was renovated, but I said that I was able to stay very comfortable. Really disappointing. We've booked 2 nights in a Japanese style bedroom for a couple and when we arrived the lady told us our bedroom has a problem with the bathroom so they've ”upgraded” us. However instead of a Japanese style room with futons they gave us a western style bedroom with 4 single beds. The room was boring without any Japanese style. We aren't in Japan to sleep in the same bed (and even inconfortable ones in Ouka Guesthouse) than at home. They said we are lucky because we have a big kitchen on our floor of 3 bedrooms. Yes true but we didn't mind as we didn't plan to use it at all. And the second disappointment was that on our floor there were 3 bedrooms and one of them had a big Japanese door so pretty sure it was a Japanese style bedroom. Unoccupied for 2 nights. Anyway. Worst experience we had during our trip in Japan. I would expect more than a simple ”sorry”.

It's my first time at a ryokan, and it's quiet like a hanok... The museum-like interior and breakfast tastes great... More than anything, there's a morning market 10 minutes away on foot, and what's called Little Kyoto??? It's there... and the bus terminal to Shirakawa is close...

Walking distance to train or bus station. Helpful staff, doesn't always speak English but uses a translation app. Great check-in, neat spacious comfortable rooms [402], with bottles of water offered.
