We stayed in late July and it was not what we expected. I want to be clear that the staff was kind, responsive, and more than helpful with anything we asked. They provided good directions to local highlights and beaches. They found the perfect bikes to fit our family. When we couldn't quite find one to fit the tallest family member, we were fine with one of us walking over to Love Beach. About 20 minutes into our trek they came along the road with fresh cold water (it was 95+ degrees that day) and a bike they found that fit. It was a true act of service and we truly appreciated it. I am sure that back in the day, the resort was really lovely. However, the facilities are in poor shape right now. The AC unit for the house worked (it struggled against the intense heat) but it wasn't fitted into the building so there were enough open spaces for mosquitos to feast on us in the apartment at night. The patio was stained with rust from the leaky air conditioner and the landscaping was either completely dead or overgrown. It was a little closer to camping than I had hoped. The wood walkways on the way down to the beach are sorely in need of maintenance. The boards are warped and broken in places. There are nails sticking up. We cleared spider webs and avoided the overgrown brush on the way to the beach. The pools were cloudy and slight green. It was not the clear blue water in the pictures. Nothing looked like the pictures. The beachfront bar closed at 6 pm each night. The dining room, because there were only a handful of people in the resort, was generally closed unless you told them ahead of time you'd be there. We made a mistake the first night thinking we would eat at the bar near the beach. When we figured out that was closed, we went up to the resort dining room. It was empty and the staff was surprised to see us as we hadn't made a reservation. They very kindly scrounged up dinner for 3 of us, but the whole place was empty. That said, the nearby beaches were beautiful. Love Beach was stunning and very secluded. Gorgeous blue water and white sands. The beach in front of the resort is pretty as well, just a different terrain, a little more rocky at the edges. But, still white sands abound. I think if you're up for a basic place to stay you'll be fine here. But, if you take the word "resort" as one might, you will be left wondering what you misinterpreted in the online pictures and reviews. Our experience was quite different.
