Outstanding
GGuest UserOur family getaway to StL went great with this hotel. It was clean, the staff was super friendly and the continental breakfast was honestly one of the better ones I've experienced.
The general location is good for local attractions like the Magic House and the Zoo. But, the exact location is a little odd to find at 1st, but once you do it gets oretty easy to navigate.
For meals there's a good mix of local flavor and national chains.
GGuest UserThis hotel is centrally located in ”downtown” Clayton with easy access to highways and main roads throughout St. Louis. We got free parking for 2 of the 3 nights we were here and discounted parking on the third night. A substantial breakfast with an omelet and waffle bar is included. My only caveat is that there were special functions 2 of the 3 nights on the 7th Floor (ballroom) and we could hear/feel the thump of the bass on the 4th floor (it was louder in the bathroom, for some reason). Front desk staff acknowledged the ”noise” and noted that the event would end at 11 p.m. Not sure I'd stay here again, given the potential for that level of disturbance. Otherwise a clean hotel with attentive staff in a handy location.
GGuest UserI arrived and was greeted promptly by a gentleman at the front desk. After taking care of the incidental hold, he handed me my key cards and directed me to the elevators. My room was large and very clean. It wouldve been helpful to have a guide of channels for the tv and washclothes in the room. The breakfast was ok with scrambled eggs, chicken patties, pastries, waffle makers, and 4 types of cereal. If I was more hungry than I had been, the selection could've been better. It is located near a ton of eateries and shopping.
GGuest UserIt was 105 degrees when we pulled into St. Louis, our 3rd stop on a cross-country trip. So sadly, we were not able to explore the area much at all, as the hotel is situated not far from Wash U in an area that seems really interesting. Check-in was a breeze, staff wore face masks, our room was quiet, clean, nicely decorated, good bathroom, comfortable bed. There is lots of moon & space decor throughout the hotel, Jetson-esque furnishings, definitely a theme going on. The restaurant was not open due to lack of staff, but there was 1 chef working and we ultimately decided to eat in the (enclosed) rooftop bar (it was a Monday, many places were closed). The bar staff could not have been nicer, the drinks were good, food was .. pretty good and definitely acceptable for a nosh-type dinner.
KKristiExcellent all around. Only small complaint was that I waited 40 minutes for the shuttle. In hindsight I probably should’ve put a pickup time in the special requests section when booking. I live abroad so need WiFi to make calls and was afraid I’d miss the shuttle if I went inside to make the call. It was there within 5 minutes of calling, and I had a good night’s sleep and enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.
GGuest UserPaid cash for room and cash deposit. Was told cash deposit would be returned upon check out. Gave card for file incase we stayed another night. Card never got put on file. And apparently the person who checked me in ( it was his very first day/night working there) only put in the payment for the room. Even though on camera it shows me handing him the money I now have to wait 24 hours for a review to even see if I get my money back! Well within that time, entering the room it smelt awful come to find out because they had a lariceo ozone generator running in the room before hand, ozone generator puts off a gas that can cause health problems, including respiratory tract irritation, breathing difficulty, asthma exacerbation, and chest pain. An ozone generator produces a gas that attacks the source of odor causing gases through a process called oxidation and permanently removes the odor. That was running when we opened the door. After turning that off I sat down on the bed and a cockroach ran out of my pillow case. I was able to capture it and would end up showing them. At breakfast we find out that they do not have fresh hot breakfast it’s all usually left over from previous nights. Unfortunately we had a power outage and our four kids were at the grandparents so we decided for another night. Which was 30$ cheaper than the night before. Paid. Found more bugs. The side door into the hotels card reader to secure the hotel was ripped off and wide open to anyone. Upon checking out they were so rude stating 24 hour investigation and they will let us know if we are able to get our cash deposit back that we paid for so now we have to wait for our own money to come back which we probably won’t get and they wouldn’t even so generously give us a night for free for our troubles of not being able to get our money back And finding a cockroach and other bugs in our room. They were not willing to do anything. Do not stay here. You will highly regret it the moment you walk into your room.
GGuest UserWe arrived on a Wednesday night, after reserving a “balcony” room with two double beds. Our party included two adults and two children (as confirmed via our online booking). Upon arrival our room had only three sets of towels. Upon contacting the front desk, we were told that we could come down to pick up additional, as they didn’t have staff to deliver. We DID notice a housekeeper cleaning “front of house” areas, but evidently delivering items to guest rooms wasn’t part of her job description. Our room did NOT have a balcony. It wasn’t of major importance to us, however, we DID pay more (per room night) for this feature. When it was brought it to the attention of the front desk (“manager” Alicia or Amanda?), she kindly adjusted our rate. However, when checking out on Sunday, we found that while 3 nights were “adjusted” appropriately, our Thursday night rate was actually increased $20. This was above and beyond our quoted balcony room rate. (We were in a standard room for the duration of our stay.) This concern was brought to the attention of the front desk clerk working on Sunday morning. She explained that her “manager” wouldn’t be in until mid-afternoon, and she had no “access” or rights to adjust room rates. We find this unacceptable- not having a Manager on Duty “on site”, who can handle guest problems during a Sunday morning (mass) checkout. The clerk we spoke to did not apologize, and seemed indifferent to our concern. Also observed in the lobby was (what appeared to be) a non-hotel guest “transient” sitting on the couch and “tweaking” (rocking, talking to self, urinated on carpeted floor). The person asked us for money, and hotel staff appeared to allow this person’s presence in their lobby setting (rather than encouraging her to “move along”. Is this common practice? The hotel decor is beautiful, and the landscaping well-kept (sprinkler system was working throughout out stay). Parking lot was to be resurfaced. Our key cards didn’t work on several occasions, thus causing us to return from 7th Floor to front desk for reprogramming. Lastly, the majority of the sandwiches, salads, and wraps in the sellf-serve cafe area had reached their expiration dates. But, the breakfast buffet offered within the lower level dining area exceeded our expectations. This property has much potential. However, management and staff will have to pay better attention to detail if they hope to advance to the next level!
i had a wonderful experience at this hotel .Initially ,i accidentally booked standard room ,but upon realizing my mistake, i approached the front desk .The staff there was incredibly accommodating and swiftly upgraded my room, making sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. the room was clean, and the service I received was excellent .I truly appreciated their attention to customer satisfaction.
PParker’s7585This was a last minute pick and emergency and my finances were low. They took me in last minute and check in was easy and they were very nice and my room was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable to my surprise. I will definitely stay there again. Thank you all for the friendly service. I hope to see you all again in the near future. I come to the city alot. And this will be my next pick.
