Everything was good

This is a an excellent 4 star hotel,spotlessly clean and very well maintained.Rooms were comfy and cleaned to a high standard.Breakfastwas good as was evening buffet despite some comments.Choice not huge but tasty.However the main reason we return to this hotel is staff,they are absolutely superb whether it is cleaning staff,restaurant staff,bar staff,receptionists even managers all genuinely go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your holiday.Special mentions though to Sam head barman plus Maria and Spyla in the restaurant.

Another great stay at this superb hotel. Thanks to Dimitrus Lampakis and his team, Eleni, Christina, Fotini, Jordan, Francin, Maria, Spiri and our lovely cleaner Eleni. Couldn’t fault a single thing. Always happy to return as it feels like home.

The hotel was spotless lovely room overlooking the pool and side view of the sea from a distance. Some of the rooms at the back overlook waste land and chickens. We had a problem with the lock on door of room and it took all day for them to give us a key which was difficult to open the door with. Staff were great in the restaurant and bar the lovely young ladies that did breakfast and the bar were very helpful. The spa massages are too expensive so I didn't experience them. The sauna steam is 25 euros for an hour which they would put on specifically for duration. I did email hotel about charges prior to my visit they didn't reply. Massages were 90 euros plus. but you could use the steam spa within this price. The spa pool free was nice it looks like swimming but the water is really warm so more leisure .Food at breakfast was a let down for a 5 star hotel. luke warm cooked breakfast. They need a new toaster its not up to it for a hotel more like a household one. continental meats and cheese were cut so small and spread over a entire display. The same every day. The fresh fruit was good which you would expect melon orange kiwi and there was Greek yogurt and cereal. There was some entertainment in the evening. A singer one night a person who played the cello another night. There was dancers on the weekend as it was Easter there. We could here entertainment from other places in Sissi as its a small resort. The beautiful church opposite had an Easter celebration until past midnight chanting and fireworks if you are there that time of the year. Nice would I return no. You really need to hire a car if you want to see anything in Crete as only one local direct bus each day but if you are happy to stay in Sissi it will be for you.

A lovely hotel made better by its amazing staff. So nice to stay somewhere where everyone is smiling and welcoming and do their best to make you feel at home. From the reception staff, to Sam the bartender, the restaurant ladies and gents and the fab housekeeping staff who kept our room spotless. Despite other reviews here, we thought the food was very good, plenty of choice and very tasty. The room was lovely, great view of the church and mountains. Plenty of room, lovely balcony and as mentioned above, kept lovely and clean. The only downsides were the constant scraping of chairs in the restaurant below us and being being next door to smokers who insisted on lighting up on the balcony as often as possible! It would be nice if there were separate smoking/non-smoking sections of the hotel. All in all, a lovely place to call home for a week. Sissi is now one of our favourite places ❤️

Our flight was late getting in but when we got to the hotel, about 1.30am, the hotel prepared a cold platter for our supper because we had missed dinner. Staff were aware of my wife's gluten intolerance and made every effort to ensure that her meals were acceptable in this respect. they even made her a special gluten free cake to celebrate her 70th birthday. Many thanks to everyone but Jordan especially. Food was generally very good with a choice of continental options and more typical British bacon, eggs etc. for breakfast. A choice of about six different options was available for dinner with sides and desserts, changing every evening. A couple of vegetarian options were included. Our room was plenty spacious enough for us with a pleasant view towards hills in the middle distance. It was cleaned diligently every day. There was church close by with a loudspeaker commandeered by a very enthusiastic priest who managed to entertain us with his prayers on a daily basis, sometimes for a couple of hours at a time.

Definitely not a 5 start hotel. Reception staff generally poor. Bar staff and cleaners friendly. Coffee slow at breakfast more tinned fruit than fresh fruit, orange juice not very nice.. Hi speed Wifi poor. Air conditioning leaked twice across whole room in night and leaked above your head at reception where you sat, Plaster coming off walls in bedroom.

Our second visit to Castello Boutique Resort this year and it was a lovely, welcome break for us. The staff are so wonderful and would do anything to help you with any queries you may have. Loved our room and the entertainment we had at the hotel. Didnt use the spa this time but we enjoyed the pool to cool off in. Hotel was spotlessly clean, absolutely no complaints there. There were plenty of sunbeds to be had but there seemed to be a bit of a sun bed war going on with 2 couples claiming the same sunbeds everyday with the usual towel going down and them going off for breakfast etc. My gripe about the sunbed area would be that the grassy area was turning into a mud bath by the time we were going home. We loved all the staff and their fun nature, too many to mention but we hope to see you all again next year. Not a big complaint but the food could have been hotter! We booked this trip through Jet2 Holidays and were attracted by the fact that the hotel was described as "An award-winning 5-star, adults only, luxury hotel" that offered an "exceptional culinary experience". Initail impressions were excellent as we arrived very late in the day yet the hotel had prepared some cold plates of food for us to eat on arrival and the staff on duty were very welcoming. The room we were allocated was really nice, clean and comfortable with lots of space and a big balcony over looking the garden and pool area. Overall the hotel was high quality with a contemporary feel. Clean and well maintained. The hotel had it's own very nice little Spa which we made use of for a swim in the small indoor pool and to have a massage. Staff here were very friendly and helpful as were all the staff we encountered in bars, restaurants and reception. Pool and surrounding are was great with plenty of sunbeds. The only slight issue was that the grassed area for most of the sunbeds could get a little muddy. The biggest disappoin**ent was the food. In my opinion it was not what I would expect from a 5* hotel and did not come close to a 5* hotel we stayed at in Dubrovnik last year. The breakfast was passable although the hot dishes were unappetising the cold food was better. The evening buffet was reminiscent of canteen food and we resorted to eating out for at least have the stay. I know they offered an a la carte menu as a paid option but were did not feel this was worth the risk. So, in summary a lovely hotel in an OK location with excellent staff but let down by the catering.
